Indiana Pacers' Malcolm Brogdon Tests Positive For COVID-19
Malcolm Brogdon of the Indiana Pacers has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to Fox News, the shooting guard is now in isolation after he was diagnosed with COVID-19.
"I recently tested positive for the COVID virus and am currently in quarantine," the 2017 National Basketball Association (NBA) Rookie of the Year and former Virginia Cavaliers' standout said in his statement.
Brogdon did not mention if he's experiencing any symptoms like fever or cough as a result of being infected with the sarS-CoV-2.
However, he said he was "doing well and progressing" and that he plans to join the Pacers to battle it out for a good push in the playoffs.
The Pacers, who is currently sitting on the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference, is bringing with them a 39-26 win-loss card.
The NBA went on a hiatus mode because of the coronavirus pandemic.
This was not the team's first time to be hit close to home by the coronavirus.
Myles Turner, who plays center for the Pacers, had his father admitted to a hospital due to COVID-19, but has since recovered.
Last Tuesday, the league started their mandatory testing as players are expected to go to Orlando for the 2019-2020 NBA restart in July.
All players will then begin a 24-hour quarantine in Florida, according to Sports Illustrated.

Last summer, Brogdon who was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 34th inked a four-year contract with the Pacers.
The shooting guard was averaging 16.3 points, 7.1 assists and 4.7 rebounds this season.
He was sidelined due to injuries of his leg and hip, but has recovered before the NBA games got suspended.
He's an integral part of the Pacers' core system that has triple-double threat big man Domantas Sabonis and the returning high-flyer Victor Oladipo.
Off the court, Brogdon has actively been involved with the Black Lives Matter movement and has used his platform as an NBA star to get the message to a broader audience, the Yahoo! Sports reported.

According to Sports Crush, other NBA players that recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus, include Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), Alex Len (Sacramento Kings), Jabari Parker (Sacramento Kings), and Buddy Hield (Sacramento Kings).
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have two players on their roster, who also tested positive for the coronavirus.
However, their names have been put on hold as of press time.
