Got nothing to do this weekend? Streaming services like Hulu and Netflix may just give you the best movies to pass the time as they released new movies.

The summer season left us with an unusual lineup of movies for the weekend, but that doesn't mean this weekend's batch is any less diverse. High-profile releases are hitting a variety of streaming platforms so people can watch movies on-demand.

Palm Springs

Where to Find It: Hulu

"Palm Springs" offers the right mix of romance, comedy, and science fiction. While it feels like a long time ago, it just made headlines when it first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

It stars Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti as two wedding guests, who got caught in a time loop, making them live the same day over and over again.

The concept is fairly similar to 1993 movie "Groundhog Day," but this time two charactecters are caught in the loop. Maybe there's even more people caught in the loop with them.

Hulu and Neon bought the rights to the movie for $17,500,000.69. This broke the record for the biggest sale at the film fest by just $0.69, an amount that reportedly a "Lonely Island" touch.

Even if Neon planned a theatrical release, the plan was for it to only be in few drive-in theaters. But streaming it on Hulu just needs a subscription.

The movie was released Friday and had received a 95 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Old Guard

The "Old Guard" follows the stories of four undying warriors, who've secretly protected humankind for a long time. They find out that someone had found out about their secret and they have to fight for their freedom.

If you've spent your life protecting the world, for sure, you'll be a pro at giving an audience some action. The characters learnt about that along the way.

It's a movie that wants its audience to think and if that sounds like a weird fit for the action genre, you've surely never pondered what it would mean to be all-powerful in a world that only wants to see things go boom. The characters are immortals trying to save the planet that likes to see things get destroyed.

The "Old Guard" is based on the book of the same name by Greg Rucka. It was released on Friday and was rated 76 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Mucho Mucho Amor: The Legend of Walter Mercado

Where to Find It: Netflix

"Mucho Mucho Amor" is a documentary that talks about the life, career, and post-fame seclusion of Puerto Rican astrologer and psychic Walter Mercado.

The first part of the title doubles as the closing message Mercado used at the end of his hour-long TV programs.

Mercado was an idiosyncratic yet iconic TV persona, loved by millions of viewers in the United States, Latin America, and even Europe. Then, all of a sudden, there was just no word of Mercado.

Critics called the movie "an absorbing and affectionate tribute to a unique individual" that can fit both long-time fans and new viewers.

The documentary lets Mercado tell his story. It shows that even as time passed, Mercado is still the same: spiritual, dazzling, and tender-hearted. It was released on July 8 and received a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
