Funny lady Kristen Wiig is gearing up to take a seat in the director's chair for her latest project.

The New York Times reports that Kristen Wiig will team up with her fellow "Bridesmaids" partner Annie Mumolo to write, produce, and star in a movie that has yet to be developed.

Kristen Wiig will also be making her directorial debut in this latest project.

"We're very excited to be writing," Wiig and Mumolo said in a statement to the NY Times. "We will be going into a cave for months to finish. An actual cave. We found one that's nice and big. We're putting a couch in there."

Wiig continued, "I've been wanting to direct for some time now. This seems like the perfect first project."

If Wiig and Mumolo's upcoming movie is anything like "Bridesmaids," it's safe to say that Wiig and Mumolo have a winner on their hands.

So what will their latest movie be about?

According to TriStar Productions, the movie will center on the story of "best friends who find themselves in over their heads and out of their depths, which were, perhaps, not too deep to begin with."

A release date for the film has yet to be announced.

In addition to the exciting news of these two funny ladies teaming up again, it is also exciting to see more female faces in film.

Time reports that a 2013 study found that films that passed the Bechdel Test -- a simple test that asks whether two women in a film talk to one another about something other than a man -- did better at the box office.

Thanks to their "Bridesmaids" collaboration that earned them an Oscar nomination, Wiig and Mumolo have sparked a movement of female empowerment in filmmaking.
