"The Batman" Reveals First Trailer Featuring Robert Pattinson at DC FanDome
"The Batman" first trailer was unveiled on Saturday by the writer-director Matt Reeves for the film during the final panel of the DC Fandome event.

According to Variety, the teaser reveals a few quick shots of Catwoman played by Zoë Kravitz and gives the first full look of Robert Pattinson in the Batsuit and driving the Batmobile. The revelation underlines Batman's brutal approach in fighting crime as Batman beats a low-level hoodlum to reiterate his point.
In the panel for the film, Reeves said that "The Batman" isn't an origin story per series. Still, the film does start in "Year Two" of Batman's emergence that Batman and other iconic characters- the Riddler, Catwoman, and the Penguin, Colin Farrell are still in the early stages of the development of their character. Batman also begins to unveil a larger story of corruption in Gotham City. The heart of the story shows how corruption is connected to the vastly wealthy and powerful Wayne family.
Through a satellite at the top of the panel, Robert Pattinson said, "I'm very anxious to get back to work and form this beloved character. I've always been a massive fan."

Director Reeves said of his approach to the Caped Crusader, "He's like you and me. But if he has a superhero, it's his ability to endure, a version of Batman that isn't about how he became Batman but about the early days of being Batman. He's not perfect."
"The Batman" takes place in the second year fighting crime as a Gotham vigilante of Wayne. Batman is trying to figure out what he can do to change the city. Finally, a murder cases will help reveal that Gotham city is more corrupt than Wayne could have ever imagined and inspire origin stories for the entire gallery of rogues.

"The Batman" had to suspend production amid the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the film is set to start filming again in early September. Reeves stated that the film had a 25% shot so far, and the delay pushed the official release date to October 2021 instead of June 2021.
