The Republican National Convention this week will officially renominate Pres. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence to lead the party in the upcoming 2020 U.S. election, but this is what you should expect on the first day.

The Republican party will have their convention this week to formally renominate Pres. Donald Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence. There are more things also to expect during the convention. Well-known allies of Pres. Trump will speak in a series of nightly talks until Aug. 27.

During the first night of the Republican National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, the party will officially renominate Pres. Trump and Vice-Pres. Mike Pence. Meanwhile, Pres. Trump will give his speech from first to the last day of the convention.

The Republican Party released recently the long list of names who give their speeches and support to Pres. Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence. It can be remembered that Reps. Matt Gaetz, of Florida, and Jim Jordan, of Ohio, confirmed earlier this month their appearance on RNC.

Pres. Trump also said "We have a brilliant, terrific speakers' list. Some of the warrior congressmen that you've watched. Jim Jordan and so many others. Matt Gaetz. These guys were warriors," Moreover, each night of the RNC will have a theme.

The overall theme this week is "Honoring the Great American Story," Meanwhile, the first night of the Republican Convention Party will be "Land of Promise." There are no details yet as to what will be Pres. Trump's message on Monday.

Michigan Republican Party chair Laura Cox said that "It's going to be a very positive tone; we're going to talk about why it's great to be an American, we're going to talk about our history, what makes us great."

She also added "We're going to continue to talk about the strong leadership and the positive effects that it's had on people's families, and their businesses and their lives each and every day. And it's important to talk about who is the leader in those decisions."

Cox also asserted that it is going to be safe to attend the convention. She also said that convention attendees participate in coronavirus testing and tracking, along with getting daily updates of symptoms or overall health conditions in a digital portal

According to a published report in the Detroit Free Press, the Republicans will use a mix of in-person events in Charlotte and prerecorded or live speeches. President Donald Trump is expected to deliver his acceptance speech on Thursday from the White House.
