PC Gamers won't have to wait much longer for their GTA fix. NVIDIA confirms that Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC will be released this fall.

In the company's first quarter earnings call (transcribed by Seeking Alpha), the global technology company revealed that the much awaited video game will be release to PC. The call made by NVIDIA Senior Director of Investor Relations Chris Evenden noted how the PC market has changed with the birth and growing demand for tablets. He explained that what used to be an email/ browsing/ typing-device has now been turned into the ultimate gaming console.

"The PC market is evolving. As entry level laptops face pressure from tablets. Yet sales of specialty PCs like gaming systems and work stations continue to grow," Evenden noted in the earnings call, adding that "gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin's Creed IV."

Forbes notes that PC gamers shouldn't worry whether Everden was just throwing random titles in the air, confirming that NVIDIA has been working closely with Ubisoft to optimize Assassin's Creed IV; it has also worked with Activision on the past Call of Duty titles. While the company has yet to officially anounce a partnership with Rockstar, developers of the GTA franchise, gamers could probably take Everden's statement as a confirmation.

Rockstar has been a little iffy on releasing titles to PC gamers; even blockbuster games like Red Dead Redemption were never released on the platform, Polygon reports. However, with Grand Theft Auto 5's Sept. 17 release date for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and a confirmed fall release, PC users wouldn't have to wait longer than other gamers to play the video game.
