Child Care Providers Will Be Included in the New Stimulus Bill
The Senate Republicans will include in the new stimulus bill billions of dollars for the child care providers in the country according to a member from the party.
The report came after Republicans revealed that they are now negotiating an amount of $1.3 trillion overall package for the next round of stimulus package. The bill is expected to become law this September not unless Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will block and reject it again.
According to a recently published report in POLITICO, the new stimulus bill that Republicans will propose to Congress includes billions of dollars for the child care providers. The provision of the said program is more likely the same in the $1 trillion stimulus bill the Republicans proposed in July.
Specifically, the proposed stimulus bill in July allocated an amount of $15 billion for the child care providers. and that includes child care centers to reopen and make sure that they follow safe and safety guidelines. The program supposedly began earlier this month if Congress acted on the request of Pres. Trump to prioritize the next round of stimulus bill.
The Senate Republicans started to draft the second round of stimulus bill after the negotiations failed last month. After this, Pres. Trump signed and issued an executive order that expanded the unemployment benefits using the unspent budget of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
However, the budget in the agency is only limited. That is why the Republican lawmakers and President Trump are pushing Congress to act as soon as possible and consider their proposal t be deliberated on the floor. Once it passed the Congress, millions of Americans will receive relief aids until the end of this year.
The new stimulus bill includes aides like enhanced $300 unemployment benefits, liability protections, another round of payments for the Paycheck Protection Program, budget for child care providers, and $105 billion for education, according to a draft of the legislation that circulated last week.
However, the Democratic leaders especially House Speaker Nancy Pelosi seem not to support the new stimulus bill. She wants a higher amount that worth around $2 trillion which the Republicans cannot agree with because it will only lead millions of Americans not to go back to work but depend only on their weekly unemployment benefit.
The new stimulus bill of the Republicans is designed to give financial assistance and at the same time putting back the economy work again by encouraging Americans to work. According to a previous report of Latin Post, those who will go back to work will receive bonuses.
Meanwhile, Republican Senator Richard Burr said "We'll get a deal. It's just a question of when we vote on it. The unfortunate thing is, Speaker Pelosi has made it clear she's not gonna be supportive of anything so it probably will fail in the last cloture vote."
Just like most of the Republican lawmakers and members of the house, the decision to help millions of Americans by discussing the second round of stimulus bill is on the hands of Pelosi. Pres. Trump and Republican lawmakers already did their efforts to support the financially impacted residents in the country amid the global pandemic.
