Orange is the New Black Season 2 Cast News: Watch Uzo Aduba's New ‘Funny Or Die’ Video Here
Since Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black" premiered last July, it's been an undeniable hit on the popular streaming site.
"OITNB's" infamous "Crazy Eyes" played by Uzo Aduba has also emerged as an unlikely "hit" among "Orange Is the New Black" fans.
In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Uzo admitted that she originally tried out for the role of former track star, Janae on "Orange Is The New Black."
Despite her efforts in the audition room, "OITNB" producers felt Aduba wasn't right for the role. But as fate would have it, "OITNB" came knocking on her door once again with the now fan-adored role of "Crazy Eyes."
"It happened on the same day I was about to leave the business altogether," Aduba explained to The Daily Beast. "I'd been auditioning and auditioning for TV projects all summer, and I didn't realize until I was trying for it that it was something I really wanted to do. So, it hurt a lot to hear, 'No thank you,' all summer.
Aduba added that it wasn't until she got home from crying on the train after yet another failed audition that she got the call.
"I got home, and 45 minutes later my representation called me and told me I got Orange Is the New Black."
Safe to say, Aduba's changed her mind about leaving the business.
In fact, Aduba is so keen on staying in the business, that she's decided to audition for "OITNB" yet again.
This time, she opted to try out for every character that we "OITNB" fans have grown to love.
In a hilarious, "Funny Or Die" video, we see Aduba swapping wigs and switching accents in order to portray just about every role on "Orange Is the New Black."
Towards the ending of the video, the "OITNB" producers ask Aduba if she'd like to try out for "Crazy Eyes" and she ironically says, "I didn't really connect with that character."
The Daily Mail reports that since it was posted on Tuesday, the funny spoof video has already garnered 89,000 views.
