It looks like Hans Solo might need a moment to recover.

While taping on set of the highly anticipated "Star Wars: Episode VII" movie on Thursday, Hans Solo actor Harrison Ford injured his ankle and was later taken to a local hospital, USA Today reports.

"Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates," said a statement from Disney reps.

So how did Ford manage to hurt his ankle on set?

According to a source from The Hollywood Reporter, the 71-year-old actor injured himself by the door of the Millenium Falcon, the spacecraft that Ford's character, Hans Solo, pilots in the original films.

Perhaps this is a case of someone swinging the Falcon's door too hard?

Either way, Ford's injury appears to be a minor one and shouldn't slow down the process of release for the upcoming Star Wars film.

"Star Wars Episode VII" is directed by J.J. Abrams and will premiere on Dec. 18, 2015.

According to the LA Times, the film takes place 30 years after the events of "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi."

The new movie features Star Wars' original stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker joining Ford as part of the ensemble.

The "newbie" cast includes John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o and Max von Sydow.

As though the star-studded cast wasn't enough, Lucasfilms and Disney are adding more excitement towards the movie by giving fans the chance to be part of the film.

Last month, Star Wars director J.J. Abrams revealed to fans that if they donate $10 or more to UNICEF, they might get a chance to be apart of the upcoming "Star Wars" movie.
