BUDY Releases Cover of RBD's Sálvame as Gift to Latin American Fans
BUDY, South Korea's fast-rising singer and songwriter, released her cover of Sálvame, a popular Spanish track, on Monday, September 28.
The cover is the rising Korean star's gift to her Latin American fans, to show them how much she appreciates their support for her music.
The music video, https://youtu.be/IWeNyEK6wbc, revealed the South Korean artist's passion for the song Sálvame, which is one of her favorite songs from Mexico's now defunct Latin pop group RBD.
"I've found the RBD recently. I was delighted by their songs and decided to record Sálvame, one of my favorites," said BUDY, who has been looking for a Latin song for a special cover for her fans.
RBD was a popular Mexican Latin pop group who became known via Televisa's telenovela Rebelde.
The group manned by Anahí, Alfonso Herrera, Dulce María, Christopher von Uckermann, Maite Perroni and Christian Chávez, achieved international success from 2004 until their separation in 2009.
RBD was one of the best-selling Latin music artists selling over 15 million records worldwide.
Sálvame is RBD's most popular track on Spotify with more than 19 million plays.
Aside from a gift to her fans, BUDY also did the Sálvame cover as a tribute to RBD.
BUDY's cover of Sálvame is a delightful mix between K-pop and Latin music wherein the rising star shows her ability to sing in Spanish. The somewhat melancholic video had the backdrop of a setting sun with its bright rays setting off Budy's skin and then finally fading out as the song ends.
Despite its melancholic tones, Budy's cover of Sálvame was endearing and her singing in Spanish will certainly be most loved by her Latin American fans.
As a solo singer-songwriter, BUDY has done a lot of covers which she has uploaded on her YouTube channel. Her voice's unique timbre had already made her known as a singer even before her official debut.
BUDY has been getting attention for her bold and original creations, carving her own niche as an all-round singer capable of mixing KPOP, R&B, Funk and Jazz on her songs eversince she erupted into South Korea's music scene last year.
BUDY released her first album "Budy's Midnight" in March 2019. She followed this with the "Midnight Remix" album in July, then her first single album "Trippin" in October.
By December, BUDY released her second single album "Bluemy Day" and her first single album in 2020 was the "Stray Cat" in June.
A few days ago, she also released her second single album for this year "A Week" which is already on all streaming platforms.
