President Donald Trump just needed a made-for-TV moment as he left for the hospital. According to the New York Times, he left the hospital only to tear open his button-down shirt to expose a Superman t-shirt beneath.

It does not appear like this was a concept off-the-cuff. According to the article, the US President spoke to many individuals when he was at Walter Reed and floated the proposal. The idea was easily likened to the famous Willy Wonka entrance scene by many on social media.

If the stunt looks familiar, you're not the only one. A video where somebody placed Trump's face over Willy Wonka from the scene where Wonka is performing a similar act is circulating on social media.

Did President Trump do it, though?

The Times reports that Trump opted not to move through with the stunt, which is unfortunate but it would have been very epic, if the story is accurate. "He ultimately did not go ahead with the stunt," reports the Times.

On Monday, Trump left Walter Reed, and even though he didn't wear a Superman T-shirt unveiling, he attempted to insert some great flare on his way back to the White House.

He also shared a video in which the coronavirus seemed to be downplaying him. Trump said of COVID-19, "Do not be scared of it." "You are going to beat it. We've got the most acceptable surgical devices, the best medicine.

Trump is coronavirus-free now, thanks Superman!

On Saturday, Trump insisted that he performed fine in his first public outing after moving back to the White House. "First of all, I'm feeling great; I don't know about you," said Trump, as bandages on his hands were clear, presumably from intravenous injections. He also thanked his fans and followers for the prayers.

"I know you've been praying, and I was in that hospital, I was watching down over so many people," he added. Perhaps he still had his Superman T-shirt image in his mind as he admired the teal blue shirts all of his fans were sporting at his White House protest Saturday. "I want to get one of them; I want to put one of them on instead of a white shirt," Trump said.

Trump is Batman, Superman

This isn't the first time that the public connected Donald Trump with Superman or even a superhero. His fan art is accessible as the Man of Steel (see below) as well as a video compiled using clips from Trump vs. Mueller's Superman II. Back in 2015, Trump also claimed he was Batman when questioned by a little child. Trump's footage of the Great Titan Thanos sporting the Infinity Gauntlet cleaning the House Democrats is also visible.

After experts diagnosed Trump with COVID-19, Dany Garcia, Johnson's ex-wife and business associate, as well as DC filmmaker Shazam and Black Adam went to Instagram. They claimed they need Superman more now than ever, an apparent Trump dig.
