Latinos will have a big role in the upcoming presidential election on Nov.3. They are the largest minority group in the country and has a big potential to help a presidential candidate win the presidential race. Latinos and Hispanics have more than 60 million registered eligible voters across the country.

This is the very first time that Latinos and Hispanics outpaced the African-Americans. It is not a surprise anymore why they are described as the "sleeping giant" in the country. In fact, both Presidential candidates are trying to court the Hispanic and Latino voters in different ways,

Even though Latinos could potentially change the election and help a candidate to win, still many of them are disappointed because they felt that their votes won't make a difference. There are many issues Latinos faced which until now are not being addressed.

In a published article on the news website The Denver Channel, Dora Ramirez, of El Paso, Texas shared: "We bring money into the economy, we work in the economy. People would not have strawberries or lettuce or avocados if people did not go out and work, and yet they are dismissing us as if we are nothing."

Moreover, Pres. Donald Trump's administration is serious about saving and helping the agriculture sector.

This is where most Latinos and Hispanics work. In April, amid the wake of the pandemic, Trump's administration gave $19 billion to farmers across the country and another aid recently.

Meanwhile, the "sleeping giant" is more likely to be more aggressive in this upcoming election. Latinos are now boosting their efforts to encourage members of their community to vote.

Volunteers are now asking every person driving up for food is asked if they are registered to vote and if they know where to drop off their ballot.

Additionally, the Pew Research Center also described Latinos as "sleeping giant" and they are expected to come to life this election.
In their obtained data, there are around 5.6 million registered voters in Texas, 7.9 million in California, 3.1 million in Florida, two million in New York, and more than a million in Arizona.

Beto O'Rourke and his team from Powered By The People believed that young Latinos are expected to be more aggressive in this election. He said, "Those young people, I believe, are not only going to vote in record numbers, but they are getting their folks and their grandparents and the people in their lives to vote as well."

One of the young Latinos Miranda Escobar Gregory, who was born and raised in Texas and a Mexican-American, said, "I know that I now have more of a voice than I did 2 years ago. If we have a strong presence in this country, why are we not using our voice to represent us and letting other people do it for us."

It is also expected that more than three million young Latino voters are expected to vote in this upcoming election.
