Is It True That Sean Connery's Son Jason Was Cut out of His $450 Million Empire?
Jason Connery, Hollywood icon Sean Connery's son to his first wife, Diane Cilento, is a British voice actor and director. Jason, 57, is also best known for his role in the third season of 'Robin of Sherwood,' the ITV drama series in 1986.
BBC reported that Jason Connery was the one who broke the news about his actor father's death. Following Sean's death, many seek the truth that Jason was cut out of his $450 million empires. Here are the answer and everything you need to know about Jason Connery, according to MEAWW.
Jason first showed interest in acting when he was a teenager, as per Closer Weekly. Sean's adult son went on to act in 1976's 'Robin and Marian' and 1983's 'The Lords of Discipline' after he finished his studies at drama school at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the United Kingdom. Following these roles, he led to his casting in the hit drama series 'Robin of Sherwood.'
In a 2017 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Jason spilled the beans that he was afraid to tell his parents that he also wants to become an actor. He began acting while at the Scottish boarding school Gordonstoun, the alma-mater of Prince Charles, Jason added.
"Look, the thing about acting is, it's a tough profession. If you don't want to do it, you'll find out soon," Sean Connery advised. Earlier, Jason also asserted that he is likely to defend himself and say that he is not just Sean's son and that he can also act.
Jason's bond with Sean
When Jason was only 10 when Sean Connery and Diane Cilento split, later in 1975, Sean married Micheline Roquebrune. In an interview with the Telegraph in 2008, Jason opened about his relationship with Sean. During that year, there was a rumor that Jason wouldn't be receiving any of his father's money in his will after Sean died.
"I honor, love, and respect my father and for a good reason. I am truly sick of reading regarding my father, our relationship, and of his being portrayed as some tyrant or monster who rules my life by 'cutting me off from his wealth. This all could not be farther from the truth," Jason said.
Jason's career
Aside from Jason's credits in "Robin and Marian," he also worked in 1984s "Nemo" and a few others. In 1997s, "Macbeth" and 2005s "Private Moments," Jason showed his acting skills as well. In 2014, Jason Connery participated in BBC One's "Celebrity MasterChef."
The talented actor also made his foray with the 2008 film "Pandemic" and in 2009 "The Devil's Tomb," where he was the director. In 2011, he directed "After Dark Originals" and 'The Philly Kid' in 2012. At the 2016 British Academy Scotland Awards, Jason's film "Tommy's Honour" won Best Feature Film.
