Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said that he will not pursue investigations on U.S. President Donald Trump after he leaves office.

"I will not do what this president does and use the Justice Department as my vehicle to insist that something happened," Biden was quoted in a USA Today report.

Biden added that he is focusing on getting the American public at a place where they have some certainty and knowledge that they can make it.

Other officials have mentioned the same comments on Biden not ordering an investigation on Trump.

Ron Klain, who is the next White House chief of staff, said that Biden is not going to order the Justice Department on who they should investigate.

The comments come as there are speculations around Trump's post-presidency legal troubles remain.

Some are calling for the president to be prosecuted for alleged misbehavior in the office.

Reports said that Biden's comments did not remove the possibility that the Justice Department could involve itself in such investigations.

The Justice Department usually operates independently of the White House on criminal matters.

Biden also acknowledged that the states may continue its legal battles with Trump.

Biden said that there are number of investigations that he has read about are at a state level.

"There's nothing at all that I can or cannot do about that," he was quoted in a report.

Meanwhile, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. is leading a continuous criminal investigation of the Trump Organization for possible tax and bank fraud committed before the president's time in office.

The probe rooted from the federal prosecution of Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is also conducting a similar civil investigation that has the possibility to turn into a criminal investigation.

This depends on what prosecutors find out.

Two women are pursuing defamation lawsuits linked to Trump's denial of their claims of sexual assault.

The two women are writer Jean Carroll and restaurateur Summer Zervos.

Biden raised his concerns during his campaign trail about a president launching an investigation against a predecessor.

The Democratic nominee said that he thinks it is a very unusual thing and not good for democracy to be talking about prosecuting former presidents.

However, some people from his own party disagree.

Democratic Rep. Bill Pascrell called on Biden to investigate Trump on the first day of his administration, saying that Trump has engaged in treachery and treason.

Pascrell said that failure to hold any political or financial accountable has caused more wrongdoing.

He argued that there must be accountability.

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Kamala Harris expressed a similar view with Pascrell.

She argued that there has to be accountability and has since deferred to Biden's decision on the matter.

White House gave its approval for Biden to receive intelligence briefings.

The General Services Administration has also acknowledged Biden's win and has informed him that the current administration can begin the formal transition.
