Monolith Discovered in Utah Desert Mysteriously Disappeared
The monolith that was first discovered by officers from the Utah Department of Public Safety's Aero Bureau mysteriously disappeared.
The mysterious monolith was first found by officers from the Utah Department of Public Safety's Aero Bureau on November 18.
They were flying by a helicopter at that time together with help of the Division of Wildlife Resources when they accidentally found the object.
It was a tall, silver, shining metal monolith discovered in the desert in southeastern Utah, according to a published article in CNN News. This prompted theories of alien placement and drew the attention of different hikers to where it is located.

According to the state's Bureau of Land Management on Saturday, the monolith mysteriously disappeared. The agency shared on its Facebook page that the monolith was removed by an unknown party or group sometime on Friday.
"We have received credible reports that the illegally installed structure, referred to as the 'monolith,' has been removed. The BLM did not remove the structure, which is considered private property," BLM firmly said that they did not remove it, and claimed that an unknown party was responsible for its removal.
Bret Hutchings told CNN affiliate KSL said they just happened to fly directly over the top of it. One of the biologist told him to turn around because he was surprised by what he found out.
Hutchings said that they guessed that the monolith was between 10 and 12 feet high. He also said that it did not look like that it was randomly dropped from the sky but rather it was intentionally planted.
However, there is still no definite answer to how the monolith appeared in the desert of Utah.
Despite different theories, one suspected that the structure was installed in the area. The Utah DPS in a statement released Monday said it is illegal to install structures or art without authorization on public lands "no matter what planet you're from."
Art installation or extraterrestrial placement?
Moreover, the authorities did not disclose where particularly in Utah the monolith is located.
They did not want curious seekers to become stranded in the area and will seek a rescue. However, this did not some of the hikers. In fact, several people found its location and they said that it is tucked in a red rock slot canyon south of Moab.
According to three people who went t see the monolith, their trek involved driving in the darkness over rocky terrain and verifying GPS coordinates.
One of the explorers also got lost at first. However, all of them said that the trip was worth it and it did not look like it was the work of an alien.
The coordinates of the monolith circulated on social media but none of the users could prove if the coordinates were true or not.
One of the users, David Surber, volunteered to find it out and prove the location. Surber may have been one first person to see the monolith before it mysteriously disappeared.
