Kelly Clarkson Wins Custody of Kids, Ex-Husband Seeks Astounding Monthly Support
Kelly Clarkson was awarded the primary physical custody of her kids after almost six months of divorce.
On November 19, the singer-songwriter won primary physical custody of daughter River Rose, 6, and son Remington Alexander, 4.
"Under the circumstances presented in this case, the interest in providing continuity and stabiliy for the minor children weighs in favor of Petitioner (Clarkson) having primary custody. The children haven't resided in Montana and their current resident as well as their residence for the last several years has been Los Angeles, California," according to court documents filed on November 30 and obtained by E! News.
The estranged couple was granted legal custody and physical custody. However, the primary physical custody was given to the Grammy-award winner.
A source told E! News that the custody order wasn't a big deal, and it made the most sense for both sides as the kids are in school in L.S. The order is designed not to disrupt the children's routine and to keep them in school.
"This works for Kelly and Brandon and everyone is fine with it for the sake of their children. Brandon will be back to L.A. to see the kids," added the insider.
Meanwhile, the judge's decision prompted Blackstock to file legal documents on Monday that states he wants Kelly to provide $436,000 monthly spousal and child support.

Blackstock demands $135,000 in child support and $301,000 in spousal support, TMZ reported.
Clarkson's former manager and husband also requested her to cover the $2 million in legal fees.
According to Daily Mail, Clarkson filed for divorce against Brandon earlier in June following seven years of marriage. Clarkson and Blackstock will share joint physical and legal custody.
The document also stated that the conflict between Kelly and Blackstock increased, and the parties are struggling with time in co-parenting because of several trust issues between them.
Meanwhile, Blackstock has the rights to visit his children, but it requires a lot of travel as Kelly will be living in Los Angeles, where she will record.
Clarkson's and Blackstock's children stayed in Montana, where the family owns a ranch. Ones after 2:00 PM Christmas until the New Year's holiday. At the same time, the "Because of You" singer revealed that her mother had been a significant influence on her decisions.
"My mom has been telling me that since I was a kid: you are who you surround yourself with," Kelly Clarkson added. "
You want to ensure you're surrounded by people that want to be the best versions of themselves, also want a good common goal for everyone, not just for themselves, right?" she explained.
Larson previously said she wouldn't be fully transparent regarding her split with Brandon, in the account of the two children, River and Remington.
In September, the pop star told the Los Angeles Times that she is a very open person. However, she can't be truly open about certain aspects as the kids are involved. Clarkson keeps busy with her career since the split.
