The House of Congress is expected to approve $1.375 billion for a border wall on Monday. This will be part of the year-end legislation along with the Relief Bill on Monday.

Pres. Donald Trump and his administration have been very serious about building border walls in his four years in office as president. This is to make sure that the number of illegal immigrants, trade of illegal drugs, and other illegal activities using the borders will be reduced. 

Congress to reach a decision by Monday

Members of the House of Congress will meet on Monday to vote on different measures, which includes the $1.375 billion for a border wall along the southern border. The legislation is part of the $1.4 trillion omnibus spending bill for the next fiscal year. 

According to a recently published report in The Hill, the House of Congress is expected to pass this on Monday along with the $900 Relief Bill. It was also found out that President Donald Trump who has long been advocating building border walls signaled that he will approve and sign it.  

It can also be remembered that Pres. Trump signed the same proposal that funds the construction of a border wall last year. This just simply means that Pres. Trump will also sign and approve $1.3 billion for the border wall in 2021.

Additionally, the government had its longest shutdown in December 2018 due to the funding of the border wall. This has also become a part of the sticking point in the annual spending bill. Pres. Trump's administration has been very serious in constructing border walls.

Funding continues during Biden's first year

There are some speculations that President-elect Joe Biden will circumvent this measure once he enters the White House.

This is because budget law requires the government to spend appropriated funds. However, the funding for the wall in this measure would continue even after Pres. Trump leaves his office. 

Initially, Pres. Trump requested an amount of $2 billion for the wall but some members of the Democratic lawmakers blocked the request, according to Politico. Despite this, Republican and Democratic lawmakers agreed to the amount of $1.3 billion for the border wall in 2021. 

The construction of border walls has helped the country reduced the number of illegal immigrants who are using the borders. This gives more opportunities for legal migrants and residents in the country to get the job they need most especially in this time of the global pandemic. 

Meanwhile, Pres. Donald Trump has been very vocal about the funding for the border wall in the previous years, but he toned down this year because his top priority is the COVID-19 relief bill that includes stimulus checks for millions of Americans. 

Despite the result of the recent election, Pres. Trump has still proven his sincerity to serve his fellowmen and wants to make sure that Americans will have the help they need before the year ends.
