The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Antifa activist Daniel Alan Baker on Friday on allegations of plotting and calling to arms on social media platforms against the Florida state Capitol.

The 33-year-old suspect, a former U.S. Army soldier, proclaimed himself to be a "hardcore leftist," according to a Breitbart report. 

Daniel Alan Baker also took part in numerous protests around the country, including Seattle's CHOP/CHAZ zone, to protest against police brutality and "the destruction of America."

Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Tallahassee Police Department assisted the FBI in arresting Baker, who reportedly surrendered peacefully.

He added that if one is afraid to die fighting the enemy, they should stay in bed and live, according to a criminal complaint filed against him.

There were also photos and YouTube videos, which show Baker posing beside the Antifa flags, with various firearms and high-capacity magazines.

Prosecutors said that Baker even tried to buy additional firearms, including an AK-47 and a pistol, two days before his arrest.

Prosecutors said that Daniel Alan Baker was kicked out of the Army and was homeless for several years in the Tallahassee area before choosing to fight with a U.S.-designated terrorist group in Syria, Fox News reported.

He was also reported of attempting to recruit and train others to the anti-government and anti-authority ideology. Baker has also made multiple violent threats to those he claims to be White supremacists, fascists, and other U.S. citizens who have a different ideology than his.

He was also reported to have promoted the killing of U.S. military officers, according to a charge against him filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida.

He has also recently posted that people should prepare for another civil war and shared a flyer on January 14 with a title, "Call to Arms January 20," with instructions to join him in encircling any protesters and confining them in the state Capitol grounds using firearms.

Baker was also temporarily banned from Facebook after the U.S. Capitol riot. The ban was lifted on January 12, and he posted condemnation to the country and both the current and elected presidents.

After approximately one year in the Army, the Antifa activist received an "other-than-honorable" discharge. He went AWOL in 2007 before his unit was deployed to Iraq. 

Daniel Alan Baker also claimed on social media that he was a trained sniper for the People's Protection Units or YPG and that he can be seen in a documentary film fighting ISIS and Turkish militants.

YPG is under the arm of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, which is designated by U.S. government as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Officials Respond to Daniel Alan Baker's Arrest

U.S. Attorney Lawrence Keefe said that the extremist's intent on violence from either the political and social spectrums must be stopped.

Keefe added that they would not stop in their efforts to detect, deter, and disrupt anyone planning to incite or commit violence, My Local News reported.

According to Tallahassee Democrat, Daniel Alan Baker appeared before Magistrate Judge Charles A. Stampelos on Friday. He would remain at a federal detention center in Tallahassee until his next court appearance scheduled on January 21.

He was charged with violating a federal law that makes it a felony to "transmit in interstate or foreign commerce any communication containing any threat to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another."

On Saturday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis granted the request of Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey's to have the National Guard brought in to help protect the state Capitol. 

DeSantis granted Dailey's request after receiving a warning through an FBI internal memo stating potential armed protests at state Capitol buildings in all 50 states, days leading up to the inauguration. 

The Tallahassee City Hall and the Leon County Courthouse will be closed early this week.
