LeBron James and his team did not disappoint the viewers and their fans as they dominate the 2021 NBA All-Star Game. Team LeBron West beat Team Durant East with a 170-150 match score.

Among the members of Team LeBron were Stephen Curry of Golden State, Dallas' Luka Doncic, and Nikola Jokic of Denver. Team Durant's first five lineup includes his Brooklyn teammate Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid of Philadelphia, Bradley Beal of Washington, Boston's Jayson Tatum and last year's All-Star MVP Kawhi Leonard of LA Clippers. Kevin Durant was unable to play as he is still recovering from a hamstring injury. Nonetheless, he remained the team captain. 

Associated Press noted that the powerhouse team of LeBron James closed the first half of the game dominating their opponent Team Durant. With this recent win, LeBron James now stands at 4-0, having defeated Stephen Curry's squad way back in 2018 and teams selected by Milwaukee's two-time reigning MVP, Giannis Antetekounmpo in the last two years.

Yahoo! Sports noted that the NBA held the event in a mostly downtown venue, State Farm Arena, which is made for Television extravaganza. This is a very symbolic move due to the rise of the COVID-19 era. Although safety protocols have been strongly adhered to in the arena, two players from Philadelphia, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, were not able to participate in the game because they got haircuts from a barber that tested positive for COVID-19.

Although LeBron's team was on fire, Associated Press noted that James spent most of the night on the bench, played for 13 minutes, scored a total of four points, then did not come back in the second half of the NBA All-Star game. Curry shared that even though James was not able to dominate the court during the game, they had a good time representing him as the captain, making it a memorable night for them.

VP Harris' Pre-Game Apperance

The National Basketball Association (NBA) pushed through their All-Star Game despite the COVID-19 pandemic. As reported by Reuters, Vice President Kamala Harris appeared ahead of the NBA All-Star game where she appealed to Americans in taking their COIVID-19 vaccine as their administration works hard in countering the vaccine hesitancy among people especially the African Americans.

U.S. News and World Report mentioned the vice president saying "I'm urging everyone to get the vaccine when it is your turn, I've taken the vaccine."

Harris' was aired before the game started, featuring clips of her conversation with actor and producer Michael B. Jordan. Aside from the African Americans, the vice president is also exerting efforts to convince the Black Americans to take the vaccine due to the distrust these groups have on the remedy for the disease. Harris mentioned in Reuters that taking the vaccine is an extension of loving thy neighbor as taking them can save their lives.
