Apple has sued a former employee tasked to design their device, MacBook, for stealing important information on the company and leaking them to the media. The lawsuit said the former employee broke Apple's non-disclosure policies and trade secret laws.

Cnet noted that the information stolen by the former employee is information regarding hardware products, plans of the company, and unannounced features. On the other hand, rumors regarding the Apple event this March have resurfaced, but this time, a definite date was supplied to the fans and tech savvies.

The Lawsuit

The company's lawsuit involves its former MacBook design employee, Simon Lancaster, and an unnamed journalist, who was working with him in leaking the information Lancaster has stolen.

Apple Insider noted that the reporter working with Lancaster had published the company's stolen trade secrets to numerous articles, with the tech giant's name attributed as the source. 

Lancaster allegedly agreed with the deal for benefits like positive coverage of the new company he is currently working with.

Cnet mentioned apple, saying that Lancaster used his sonority or access to the company to get inside one of the company's recent meetings about a new project the Tech Giant is working on. Lancaster still attended the meeting despite warning from others as he handed out his plans to go in separate ways with the company.

Apple Insider noted that the former employee stayed in touch with the journalist, as the company's investigation on the company-issued devices to Lancaster showed evidence of their continued connection. 

Apple was also able to find Lancaster's evidence having specific steps and plans to acquire knowledge and information that he will eventually trade.

Also, Lancaster obtained a "substantial number" of the company's confidential documents on his personal computer, which will benefit him from working with his new company, Arris. Cnet noted that Apple is asking for damages and punitive damages, and injunctive relief.

Apple Event Date Rumors

When suggested that a reliable source leaked it, the Apple event date might be one of the rumors fans are getting excited with. Because of the company's big announcement, the Apple event is one of the most awaited annual events, especially by Apple fans who wish to see updates and even new devices that will be made available in the market.

Sky News noted that another leaker named Kang, which, according to them, has the most accurate details regarding the release of iPhone 12 last year, suggested the date of the upcoming Apple event on March 23, 2021. 

Apart from the device updates that the company was rumored to announce at the event, Sky News noted that a new feature called ATT, set to be released in IOS 14.5, disappointed Facebook. The social media giant said it would restrict and affect the advertisements of small businesses and app developers. 

Sky News added that Apple has not yet officially announced the ATT feature's date, but it might be unraveled during the Apple event 2021, which fits the March 23 timeline.
