Police and protesters clashed as major West Coast cities triggered a violent protest on Breonna Taylor's death anniversary.

Taylor was killed during a police raid in Louisville, Kentucky, when two plainclothes police were delivering a search warrant in Taylor's residence.

The police forced their entry into Taylor's apartment, while she was in bed with her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, a few minutes after midnights.

Some of the West Coast cities that participated in the protests were Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle, according to a Fox News report.

West Coast Cities

Los Angeles police said they arrested 10 people, while four people were injured, including three officers, according to a My News LA report.

Police Chief Michel Moore said nine businesses were vandalized, while smoke grenades and other projectiles were thrown at police.

Among those arrested in Los Angeles were Jesssica Woodward, 27; Edward Malcolm, 17; Christopher Stefanic, 36; John Brown, 19; Avery Anglin, 22; Eric Smith, 24; Mario Rappa, 27; Erik Gersovitz, 30; Brian Lightfoot, 24; and Benson Williams, 27. They were all released Sunday. 

Out of the 10 people arrested, five were arrested on suspicion with a deadly weapon on a police officer, according to Moore.

The LAPD said that the protesters were dressed in black, handling pepper spray, smoke grenades, metal batons, brass knuckles, gas masks, improvised shields, and bullet-resistant vests.

Meanwhile, some protesters accused the police that they were deliberately hit by police squad cars with batons.

"LAPD just ran over two protesters at the Hollywood Breonna Taylor march," one activist captioned the video.

However, the LAPD did not immediately respond to comment on the said accusations.

Meanwhile, Seattle Police nabbed 13 people who protested to mark the first death anniversary of Taylor.

In Portland, 13 people were also arrested in demonstration. Police had also "kettled" about 100 demonstrators before allowing those to leave one by one, according to reports.

New messages were seen spray-painted outside the courthouse on Saturday night and into Sunday morning. The messages include, "Police are murderers."

Breonna Taylor Case

Brett Hankinson was charged, but not with Taylor's case. He was charged with "wanton endangerment" for firing into a neighbor's apartment, while the two other officers have not been charged, according to a BBC report.

Lawyer from the Taylor family, Ben Crump, said that it was outrageous and offensive that there had been no charged brought in direct relation to the killing.

Taylor's family sued the Kentucky city for the death in May. They had reached a $12 million settlement.

Other officers involved in the killing of Taylor were Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove, who were both fired.

Hankinson was fired from the police force after investigators found that he blindly fired 10 rounds during the raid. Meanwhile, Mattingly and Cosgrove were reassigned to administrative duties.

The three police officers raided Taylor's apartment, believing that her ex-boyfriend, Jamarcus Glover, was involved in a drug case and was using her apartment to hide narcotics.

However, no drugs were found in Taylor's apartment.

No case was filed against neither Hatkinson nor Mattingly and Cosgrove in relation to Taylor's death.
