Bad Bunny in WWE
Bad Bunny and Damian Priest battled against The Miz and John Morrison during the first night on Saturday of the two-night battle royalé, the Sports Illustrated reported. Bunny secured their win through a crossbody to the floor and a Canadian Destroyer.
Bunny's WWE performance was dubbed as the "Greatest Celebrity Wrestling Appearance." The title was given before to famous personalities such as Lawrence Taylor, the legendary New York Giants linebacker, and Pat McAfee, a pro football punter.
The WWE event with Bad Bunny happened at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, TMZ Sports reported. However, the event was delayed for about 30 minutes and eventually started in front of the 25,000 fans.
Bad Bunny did not appear unprepared or overwhelmed in the match, as he put the WWE fans in shock over his high flying and acrobatic performance in their tag team match against their opponent.
A short video posted by the WWE in its Twitter account showing Bunny's performance stirred people with astonishment, prompting Twitter users in the thread to sign up Bunny into WWE. A Twitter user urged WWE to give the Puerto Rican rapper a contract.
Celebrities usually compete and leave without providing any long-term benefit to WWE. However, Bad Bunny was deemed to bring viewers and elevate a new star during his guesting that showed his efficacy as the WWE's celebrity GOAT.
Bunny and Priest showed great chemistry on the stage. Being both raised in Puerto Rico, Bunny and Priest brought diversity to the show. Bunny also helped Priest's main roster career off to a hot start.
Bad Bunny and the WrestleMania Story
Bad Bunny is not new to WWE's stage. Bunny performed his song "Booker T" in the royal rumble. But wrestler The Miz destroyed Bunny's DJ set as the performance finished with the equipment left on the stage.
The storyline of Bunny's WrestleMania match rotates around The Miz not respecting Bunny. It was also shown that The Miz and Morris vandalized Bunny's Bugatti and even released a music video making fun of their opponents.
However, Bad Bunny has a deeper connection to the WWE stage as he won the 24/7 championship during a backstage segment. Bunny brought his belt to Saturday Night Live when he was tapped to be a musical guest.
Because of Bunny's fantastic performance on the WWE stage, fans have called his WrestleMania debut the best WWE celebrity match of all time.
