Since quitting his royal duties last year, Prince Harry will have his first visit to Britain for Prince Philip's funeral without his heavily pregnant wife, Meghan Markle.

Ahead of Prince Philip's funeral, Prince Harry flew to London's Heathrow Airport on Sunday. Wearing a jacket, chinos, and a black face mask, the Duke of Sussex arrived at the west London airport around 1:15 p.m. (GMT).

Prince Harry reportedly left his mansion in California on Saturday night in a black Cadillac Escalade to board a British Airways flight from Los Angeles to London.

Upon arrival in London, Prince Harry was put into a black Range Rover by security he met off the plane. He was then reportedly brought to Kensington Palace.

It was reported that the Duke of Sussex would have his quarantine at the Nottingham Cottage as his official "Megxit deal" home, the Frogmore Cottage, has been handed to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

Once he provides a negative COVID-19 test, Prince Harry can immediately leave quarantine five days instead of 10 based on the "government's test to release" rules.

But reports noted that regardless of the number of days in quarantine, Harry will still be allowed to attend Prince Philip's funeral as the official guidelines state that individuals coming in from abroad can leave isolation on "compassionate grounds."

Prince Philip's Funeral Without Pregnant Meghan Markle

According to Daily Mail, sources close to the couple shared that the former "Suits" actress Meghan Markle wanted to join her husband Prince Harry to attend the funeral. However, Meghan Markle's physician advised her against traveling as she pregnant with their second child, a baby girl.

The royal family ordered a truce over the contents of the couple's recent interview with Oprah Winfrey to focus on honoring Prince Philip, who died peacefully in his sleep at Windsor Castle on Friday, or two months before his 100th birthday.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were criticized for accusing the royal family of racism during their CBS special interview, which ITV broadcasted in the U.K. 

While the interview is ongoing, Prince Philip was in a hospital receiving treatments for an infection and a pre-existing heart condition. But the sources stated that Prince Philip, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh, was brief regarding the interview's content after leaving the hospital, N.Y. Daily News reported.

In a short tribute to Prince Philip, the Sussexes wrote on the Archewell organization's website their appreciation for the Duke of Edinburgh's service. They also said that Prince Philip would be greatly missed.

Prince Harry was last photographed with his grandfather, Prince Philip, in May 2019, when they posed for a photograph with baby Archie at Buckingham Palace. 

The return of Prince Harry to the U.K. before the funeral on Saturday will be his first since March 2020, when he moved to Canada. It will also be his first chance to reunite with his brother, Prince William, and his father, Prince Charles, ABC reported. 

Duke of Edinburgh's Funeral

Prince Phillip will be buried after a funeral at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on April 17, with a national minute of silence to be observed as it starts at 3 p.m.

He will be carried on a specially modified Land Rover, which he helped design. Engineers from the Army immediately prepared it after he was admitted to hospital in February.

The palace said the number of mourners would be limited to 30. Both the royal family and the British government urged the public to stay home rather than personally pay respects. They added that there would be no public processions or viewings.

Together with Prince William and the rest of his family, Prince Harry will walk behind the coffin at Saturday's funeral at St George's Chapel. He was not expected to wear his military uniform after being stripped of his official honorary titles honors. Harry will instead wear a suit along with Prince Edward and Prince Andrew.
