Hey, Powerpuff fans, get ready to experience some sugar, spice, and everything nice once again.

"The Powerpuff Girls" are making a comeback to Cartoon Network almost 10 years after the original series ended in 2005, E! News reports.

Rob Sorcher, Cartoon Networks' chief content officer, announced the exciting news at the 2014 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas on Monday.

"The original 'Powerpuff Girls' was a franchise phenomenon for Cartoon Network, paving the way for a new generation of innovative storytellers and enthusiastic fans worldwide," said Sorcher during the Expo. "We are calling these girls back into action based upon an overwhelming demand for sugar, spice and Chemical X."

GMA News reports that Pete Yoder, vice president of consumer products for North America, Cartoon Network Enterprises, also chimed in on the news.

Yoder explained that the Powerpuff Girls brand is still well-known to people of all ages today, so naturally Cartoon Network opted to capitalize on the "Powerpuff Girls'" popularity.

"As the original ambassador of 'girl power,' 'The Powerpuff Girls' brand continues to resonate with people of all ages and there is tremendous excitement around introducing Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup to a new generation," Pete Yoder said.

"With proven success and great content plans in place, there's so much potential that we're looking forward to explore with our licensing partners in the coming weeks."

"The Powerpuff Girls" series was created by Craig McCracken. It debuted in 1998 with its final episode airing in 2005 and a 10th anniversary special was aired in the U.S. in 2009. The show centers around its main characters, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles, who came into being after a scientist named Professor Utoniom accidently pours an extra ingredient ("Chemical X") in attempt to create the perfect little girl.

With their newfound super powers, "The Powerpuff Girls" are able to be defenders of Townsville and stop crime.

According to GMA News, "The Powerpuff Girls" has become one of Cartoon Networks' most successful shows, earning over $2.5 billion in retail sales. It also received two Emmy Awards during its six season run beginning in 1998.
