A beach party that has gone viral in TikTok gathered thousands of attendees in Southern California. Nearly 150 partygoers were arrested by the authorities for "unlawful assembly." The said event stemmed from a now-deleted video invitation on social media app TikTok that has gone viral, and the wave of partygoers arrived on Saturday evening.

It can be remembered that earlier in May, the police also intervened at Chris Brown's birthday party in California, specifically in Tarzana, but lead to no arrest because everyone at Brown's party was cooperative.

A Wave of People Gathered on a TikTok Viral Beach Party in California

The gathering initially started as a meet-up called "Adrian's Kickback" in Huntington Beach. The viral TikTok invitation with at least 203 million views prompted two assemblies on a separate night that caused police to disperse the crowds on both nights, NBC News reported.

In a tweet, Huntington Police Department said they are "actively monitoring" a social media post that promoted a large gathering. Because of this, the Department enforced "all applicable laws and ordinances." Huntington Beach Police Department also reminded those who wanted to visit that alcohol, drugs, and fireworks were banned in the area.

Lt. Brian Smith confirmed with Associated Press that at least 400 people showed up on Friday for a pre-party celebration around a lifeguard tower. The authorities declared an unlawful assembly and scattered the attendees when the partygoers lit fireworks near the fire pits. However, on the next day, the authorities estimated at least 2,500 people gathered at the beach before moving to the downtown area. Reports said that there were also attendees who flew to California to attend the event.

Due to the fistfight and other unlawful acts the attendees showed and posted on social media, the authorities ordered the crowd to disperse and issued an overnight curfew. Associated Press underscored that some partygoers threw bottles, rocks, and even fireworks at the officers. Approximately 150 officers were deployed to handle the crowd, and they were able to disperse them after the fireworks were used.

Nearly 150 Arrested in the TikTok Viral California Beach Party

At least 121 adults and 28 juveniles were arrested by the authorities during the event. Several downtown businesses, police vehicles, and a lifeguard tower were damaged due to the event. Spokeswoman Jennifer Carrey confirmed that the arrested individuals during the TikTok viral California beach party faced several legal charges, including the firing of dangerous and illegal fireworks, failure to disperse, curfew violations, and vandalism.

No injuries were reported in the incident, but paramedics were reported to be on the scene to deal with medical emergencies just in case. Meanwhile, due to the unlawful assembly, the officers declared a curfew effective May 22 at 11:30 in the evening through 5 in the morning of May 23. The said curfew was effective for all individuals within the downtown area.
