Kim Kardashian is facing a lawsuit filed by her seven former maintenance workers over unspecified unpaid wages and overtime.

The lawsuit against the 40-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was filed Monday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Daily Mail Online reported that the seven former employees composed of gardeners and maintenance staff worked for Kim Kardashian in her $60 million Hidden Hills residence. The maintenance workers accused the celebrity of mistreatment when they were still working for her.

Maintenance Workers Sue Kim Kardashian

The plaintiffs were Andrew Ramirez, his brother Christopher Ramirez and son Andrew Ramirez Jr., Rene Ernesto Flores, Jesse Fernandez, Aron Cabrera, and Robert Araiza.

The former workers alleged that they were treated as independent contractors even though they were told to be employees of Kim Kardashian. 

They noted that they were not paid overtime, did not receive proper meal breaks, and their expenses were not reimbursed. 

In the court papers obtained by the Daily Mail, the plaintiffs alleged that Kim Kardashian permitted, encouraged, and/or required the employees to work more than eight hours per day and an excess of 40 hours a week.

Kim Kardashian also allegedly failed to pay the minimum wage for all hours the plaintiffs have worked and that the celebrity engaged in child labor violations.

The Blast noted that Kim Kardashian allegedly employed a 16-year-old. Furthermore, Keeping Up With The Kardashians star informed the maintenance workers that they were employees and withheld 10 percent of their gross wages for the taxes.

The court documents also underscored that the maintenance workers did not receive any paystubs, were not paid on a regular pay period, and did not provide them "with means" to document all their hours. 

The maintenance workers also alleged that they were not provided with meal and rest breaks and were not paid for their wages upon termination of their employment. It was also revealed that a worker asked about his rights as an employee, and he was fired because of that.

"My firm is currently investigating other potential violations against these defendants," said lawyer Frank Kim from the law firm Kim Legal, who are representing the men. 

Kim noted that "wage theft and other workplace violations" are a prevalent problem in the county of Los Angeles.

Kim Kardashian Hopes Wage Issue with Ex-Maintenance Workers be Resolved

Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian's camp would want the wage issue with her former maintenance workers to be resolved. A representative for the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star blamed the issue on a third-party vendor, AceShowbiz reported.

The representative noted that the maintenance workers had been hired through a third party and not by Kim Kardashian directly to provide the ongoing services.

Therefore, the representative said the reality star is not a party to the agreement made between the vendor and their workers.

The representative added that Kim Kardashian has never not paid a vendor for their services and hopes that the issue between the workers and the vendor would be resolved soon.
