The Los Angeles Lakers put out Phoenix Suns' heat as their Big 2, Anthony Davis and LeBron James, led the purple and gold to a win, 109-102, tying their first-round playoff matchup at 1-1.

Anthony Davis dropped a near triple-double performance with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists; alongside LeBron James, who punched 23 points, 9 assists, and 4 rebounds, to seal the deal in Game 2.

LA Lakers' Aggressive Offense

The LA Lakers crushed the boards early in the game and took advantage of their size. The purple and gold squad imposed their dominance in the paint and registered early offensive rebounds, which translated to their early lead.

According to CBS Sports, Anthony Davis, who struggled in Game 1 of the series, attacked the basket in the opening quarter and became more aggressive in the offensive end. Lakers big man Andre Drummond, who was also in the opening game of the first-round matchup, muscled his way in the paint against rival DeAndre Ayton. Even Marc Gasol also contributed to the Lakers' offense as he spaced the floor well for the squad.

Moreover, the Phoenix Suns' main offensive gunner Devin Booker took charge in the third frame and answered the 10-1 run by the Lakers. But the Suns remained to struggle offensively as they missed the leadership of their floor general Chris Paul who is suffering from a shoulder injury he acquired in game 1.

Meanwhile, after hitting a triple with three minutes left in the third period, Davis already registered 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assist in the game. A big improvement compared to his game 1 performance of only 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The Suns tried to disrupt the offensive flow of the Lakers with their defense, but after the timeout, LeBron James entered the floor and scored 5 quick points to stay on the lead despite back-to-back threes from the Suns, 79-72.

Furthermore, the Suns picked up their game in the third as Cam Payne opened the fourth with a triple to cut the lead in four digits.

The Suns continued to be aggressive in the offense as Jae Crowder completed a 4-point play with a corner three plus a foul from Alex Caruso. The Suns took the 88-86 lead after trailing since 12-11 in the 1st quarter.

Despite a shot clock violation by the Lakers 3:40 left in the fourth that gave the Phoenix a possession in the fourth, Ayton was blocked by Davis while trying to score in the paint. LeBron translated the defensive stop to a fadeaway in the perimeter to extend the lead in 3. After draining a three Ad stole the ball from Cam Payne and was fouled, sinking both FTs to push the lead to 8.

AD forced a turnover from Devin Booker to get the possession with under 2 minutes in the game. LeBron drains the dagger three from an AD screen to put the Lakers 9 points ahead under a minute in the game. The Phoenix Suns tried to get back on the game, but the Lakers refused to give them a chance, as Alex Caruso threw a vicious dunk, punching it through the rim.

Also, Lakers' Big man Andre Drummond had a quality performance in Game 2 with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

On the other hand, the series is headed to the Staples Center, wherein the visiting Suns will try to snatch a win in the Lakers home court.
