"Bachelor" star Gia Allemand died on Wednesday, two days after an apparent suicide attempt at her home in New Orleans.

Allemand's family said that her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, found her unconscious on Monday night. After a rush to a hospital, she was on life support and still unconscious.

Allemand died "peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and lifelong friends by her side."

"Loved ones and fans will remember Gia Allemand as a caring woman who loved her family and was well-known for her compassion towards animals and mission to rescue homeless pets," the family statement also said.

Anderson released a statement as well: "I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans. Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile." 

In 2010, Allemand competed in "The Bachelor" and eventually earned a spinoff show called "The Bachelor Pad."

"Bachelor" host Chris Harrison tweeted: "It's with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our good friend Gia Allemand. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her."

Jake Pevelka, who was also on the show with Allemand, tweeted: "I had to pull over, I can't stop crying. We have lost an angel."

Allemand's death comes just one month after Glee actor Cory Allan Michael Monteith passed away from what an autopsy described as "mixed drug toxicity" from a combination of heroin and alcohol. Monteith, who was known as "Finn" on the show, was found in a hotel room in Vancouver, Canada.

Monteith was 31, while Allemand was 29.
