Before the title bout between Manny "Pacman" Pacquaio and Errol "The Truth" Spence Jr., Ricky Hatton has an early warning for the IBF/WBA welterweight champion Spence to not underestimate the eight-division champion.

Manny 'Pacman' Pacquaio Can Still Bite

Two months before their fight on August 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Ricky Hatton from Manchester, England, who was knocked out in two rounds by Pacquiao in 2009, reminded Spencer of the threat that the 42-year-old Pacman brings.

Despite some predictions that show that the Filipino pride was another easy tune-up for Spence Jr., Hatton insisted that Pacquiao still poses a serious threat to the unbeaten champion.

According to MSN Sport, Ricky Hatton mentioned in his recent column for The Metro that Pacman is absolutely incredible. He even stated that he does not know why Manny Pacquaio will be fighting Errol Spence Jr. at the age of 42 with everything he has achieved in his belt. But he emphasized that Pacman is an educated individual and a clever person.

Moreover, Hatton said that traditional boxers do not know when to call it a day in their career. They do not know when to pick the right time to hand their gloves up, but Pacquiao is different. He is clever.

Ricky Hatton said the fact that Manny Pacquaio accepted the fight against Spencer Jr. only means that Pacman is still capable of biting and mixing up with the champion at that level.

Hatton also shared that Pacquaio is all ready to go down as one of the greatest fighters of all time, but they do not want to see him get hurt. 

The English boxer still has faith in Pacman and the team behind him that they are clever enough to know what they are doing.

Manny Pacquaio's Boxing Record

Manny Pacquiao, who holds a record of 62-7-2, with 39 KOs under his belt, has not fought since July 2019, when he beat the undefeated steak of Keith Thurman by split decision at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, many point towards the fact that Spence Jr. is younger than Thurman, and he should be able to deal with Pacquiao easily. 

But Ricky Hatton feels that those observers are misinformed regarding the real ability of Pacman. That's why he refused to write off his former opponent.

Despite Hatton admitting that compared to Thurman, who Pacman beat in 2019, Spence Jr. is a little bit sharper, better in what he does, and mentioning that reflexes definitely will favor "The Truth."

Still, Hatton reminded everyone that every now and again, you get the odd freak. He even mentioned that Bernard Hopkins went onto become a world champion at the age of 48.

Hatton said that people could not simply point out Manny Pacquiao's age and say that the Filipino pride cannot do it anymore because if he is still performing at the highest level, why not go for it. 

Hatton also emphasized that Pacman will certainly raise his game once again, especially against a younger opponent in Spence Jr. And he knows that Pacman will because Pacquaio is a hell of a fighter, Boxing Scene reported.

Even fellow Filipino boxer Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire said that Pacquaio would win over "The Truth," Boxing News 24 reported.
