Milwaukee Brewers Edges Detroit Tigers 3-2; Continues Winning Streak
The Milwaukee Brewers outgunned the Detroit Tigers, 3-2, after the hit of Luis Urias bounced over the wall and drove Omar Narváez home with the winning run in the 10th inning on American Family Field, Monday.
Bounce Back
The Milwaukee Brewers did not only win their fifth straight game but also snapped the three-game winning streak of the Tigers.
According to the Associated Press via Yahoo Sports, Willy Adames, Milwaukee Brewers shortstop shared that before Urías' game-winning hit, Luis already told him when they were going to the dugout that he is going to walk it off. Adames shared he responded to Urias that he believes in him and it is amazing to watch that he made it.
Moreover, the Brewers' shortstop said that the game-winning hit was even more amazing because Urias told him that he was going to do it before it even happened. He added it was astonishing because Urias had that confidence in himself.
Adames hit a two-run homer for the Brewers. Tigers' Akil Baddoo had a game-tying solo shot for the Detroit team in the seventh.
Despite both of the teams opened the 10th inning by bunting over their automatic runners to third, the Brewers capitalized on it.

Furthermore, A.J. Hinch, the Tigers manager stated that the runner-on-second, extra-inning rule brings excitement. He also added that it brings everybody on their feet, quickly in scoring position. Hinch also pointed out that it brings back fundamentals, Brew Crew Ball reported.
Hinch also mentioned that both teams bunt, trying to score for a run. He added that the Brewers got the runner and they did not.
Meanwhile, after falling behind 1-2 in the count with one out, Urías fouled off two pitches before his drive off José Cisnero (0-2) hit the warning track in right-center and bounced over the wall. It is the first career walk-off hit for Urías.
In addition, Urias stated that the Tigers' pitcher was throwing heat, that's why he did not do too much. He also added that he was trying to get a good pitch to hit. Urias also thinks that his hit was kind of outside but he was glad that it stayed through.
The Tigers started the top of the 10th by having Willi Castro bunt Jake Rogers over to third. However, Robbie Grossman and Harold Castro struck out looking to stop the sixth consecutive scoreless appearance for Brad Boxberger (2-1).
The Brewers trailed 1-0 until Adames hit a 3-2 from Daniel's pitch over the right-field wall with one out in the sixth. Detroit had taken the early lead on Jonathan Schoop's two-out single in the sixth.
Since the acquisition of the Brewers of Adames in a May 21 trade that sent relievers J.P. Feyereisen and Drew Rasmussen to the Tampa Bay Rays. Adames is batting .324 in 11 of 34 with two homers and nine RBIs in 10 games. He also hit .197 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in 41 games with the Rays, ESPN reported.
