Despite the record-breaking shooting performance night of Portland Trail Blazers Damian Lillard, it was Michael Porter Jr. of the Denver Nuggets who sank the most important basket of the pivotal Game 5 of the first round NBA playoffs matchup, sealing the 3-2 lead, 147-140 win, at Ball Arena.

Damian Lillard hit shots one after another, forcing Game 5 into double overtime on Tuesday night, June 1. But Nikola Jokic and his squad refused to back down in their home court.
According to ESPN, it was a tie game before Michael Porter Jr. drilled a 3-pointer from the left corner with 1:33 left in the second overtime. Porter's shot proved as the game-winner for the Denver Nuggets as it propelled the Nuggets squad in an epic comeback against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Porter said after the pivotal game that it was all about playoff basketball. The thriller included a dozen lead changes, 11 ties.
Nicknamed "The Joker," Nikola Jokic also came up big in Game 5 and scored 38 points, The Denver Post reported. A performance that is one assist shy of a triple-double.
Jokic tied the game at 140 with a layup, and he was also the man responsible for delivering a crosscourt pass to Porter to broke the tie with a 3 from the left corner.
Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone noted that they won and lost that game many times before ultimately winning it. He added that they never got down.
Malone mentioned that every time they threw a haymaker and got them down on the canvas, they got up and were able to pull it out at the end, and that's why they won.
Michael Porter Jr., who finished the night with 26 points, said it was not hard to keep composed when Damian Lillard kept hitting daggers to extend the game.
Porter also said that it was 0-0, and they knew that only five minutes were left at the game clock of the big game, and they needed it.
He added that when Jokic's precision pass landed on his hand in the left corner in the second overtime, he said to himself that he needs to make up for that buzzer-beater made by Dame at the end of regulation and the first overtime period.
Nikola Jokic also praised the performance of Damian Lillard and said that it was his pleasure to be on the court just to witness it.

Damian Lillard's Performance
Meanwhile, a dozen of long bombs from Damian Lillard placed him in the new playoff record. Lillard made it in a 70 percent shooting performance beyond the arc.
Also, the performance of Lillard beyond the arc in Game 5 crushed the previous record set by Golden State Warriors' sniper Klay Thompson at Oklahoma City in 2016. Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts also said that it was the best playoff performance he has ever seen.
Lillard scored 17 of Portland's last 19 points in the two overtimes, Blazer's Edge reported. But after his 12th 3-pointer in 17 attempts put the Blazers ahead 140-138 with 3:47 left, he didn't score again.
In the final minutes, Lillard was locked down by Rivers, forcing him to pass the ball to his open teammates. But his teammates failed to drop even a single basket.
