The Phoenix Suns' floor general, Chris Paul, led the dominating victory against the Denver Nuggets in the second-round playoff series, 123-98, taking a 2-0 lead after the first two home games in the series.

The latest Suns' home win was their fifth straight in the postseason.

Chris Paul's Perfect Performance

According to CBS Sports, Chris Paul led the charge for the Suns, dropping 17 points, 15 assists without committing any turnover. 

The assist-to-turnover ratio of CP3 in the series is now a staggering 26-1. Chris Paul did everything he wanted on the floor in Game 2.

Moreover, the Phoenix Suns appeared to be a step ahead of Denver. The squad from the Valley outperformed the Nuggets on both ends of the floor in the second game. 

All five starters for the Phoenix Suns scored in double figures, while the Nuggets only had two in their first five. The Suns got whatever they wanted on the offensive end while continuously making things difficult defensively for the Denver Nuggets. 

Devin Booker also had a double-double performance to secure the game 2 victory. Booker added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the surging Phoenix Suns.

The Phoenix Suns drained 18 shots beyond the arc at Game 2. In addition, the Valley squad shot 47.7 percent in the three-point area.

Nikola Jokic of Denver Nuggets Failed

Meanwhile, the recently crowned MVP Nikola Jokic gave the Nuggets 24 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists, but his production in Game 2 was not nearly enough. 

The reigning MVP only had minimal help from the guys around him. Also, the head coach of the Denver Nuggets, Mike Malone, is struggling in getting points from his players. 

The usual numbers coming from his starters Michael Porter Jr. and recently acquired Aaron Gordon dropped. The supporting cast of "the Joker" only combined 17 points on 6-of-20 shooting in Game 2 of the series.

On the other hand, the Nuggets still hope that things will be different when shifting the series to Denver for Games 3 and 4, NBA.com reported. 

The Nuggets will be playing in front of their home crowd, who is also considered as the sixth man on the floor in the sport. The Nuggets are still adjusting to the offense that the Suns are dealing with them.

They also need to show better performance on both ends of the floor compared to the Phoenix Suns to seal their home games to force the series to extend. However, based on the playoff history, Denver is already in a dangerous position. 

In the postseason, a total of 430 playoff series have started at 2-0, and only 28 times has the team that gained the early advantage failed to win the series, Land of Basketball reported.

The percentage is at 7 percent, and the most recent example of this occurred in the first round this year. The Los Angeles Clippers completed it and managed to turn around the series against the Dallas Mavericks in seven games after they dropped the first two games of the series.
