Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Trevor Bauer Faces Sexual Assault Allegation
Trevor Bauer, a Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB), was placed under investigation after a woman accused him of sexual assault.
Lieutenant Carolyn Gordon from Pasadena Police Department in California told USA Today on Tuesday night, June 29, that the department is overseeing the investigation.
CBS Los Angeles reported that the woman alleged that Trevor Bauer sexually assaulted her on May 16. Gordon said the woman contacted the police herself and disclosed the incident.

Woman Accused MLB Star Trevor Bauer of Sexual Assault
The woman, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by the MLB star, is being defended by Attorney Marc Garelick. TMZ reported that the woman was granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order on June 29 in Los Angeles, California.
The woman was not identified in reports, but Garelick referred to the woman as "Ms. Hill." Garelick noted that the order was a result of an assault that was done by Trevor Bauer, which made the woman "suffered severe physical and emotional pain."
The lawyer added that he expects criminal charges to be filed against the MLB star.
Gordon, on the other hand, said she had no idea about the protection order filed against the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher. She noted that to her knowledge, it was not filed in Pasadena.
"We anticipate there will be a criminal action against Mr. Bauer, and it is our hope law enforcement will take our client's allegations and case seriously," Garelick said. The lawyer added that their goal was to prohibit the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher from contacting his client.
Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Denies Sexual Assault Allegations
The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher denied the sexual assault allegations. Trevor Bauer's attorney, Jon Fetterolf, said the MLB star and the woman had a "brief and consensual" sexual relationship.
Fetterolf noted that the alleged sexual relationship between the two, which began in April, was initiated by the woman.
"We have messages that show [the woman] repeatedly asking for 'rough' sexual encounters involving requests to be 'choked out' and slapped in the face," said Fetterolf.
The lawyer further noted that Trevor Bauer and the woman met twice in the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher's residence in Pasadena, where she left "without incident" after staying overnight.
However, the woman sought medical care due to a concussion days after she stayed at Trevor Bauer's residence.
Fetterolf also retaliated against the protection order filed against his client, arguing that the order was "non-existent, fraudulent, and deliberately omits key facts, information, and her own relevant communications."
"Any allegations that the pair's encounters were not 100% consensual are baseless, defamatory, and will be refuted to the fullest extent of our law," said Fetterolf.
According to USA Today, the Los Angeles Dodgers refused to comment on the issue but emphasized that they take the allegations on their player seriously.
