A night of celebration in Fort Worth turned into a shooting incident after shots were fired close to a car wash early Sunday morning. The incident placed eight individuals in local hospitals.

The Fort Worth police are currently sorting through evidence to find out the root cause of the shooting incident in Fort Worth. A police officer stated that it was around after 1:30 a.m. when he heard gunshots. The officer said that he was in the Como neighborhood in southeast Forth Worth, close to I-30 and Camp Bowie Boulevard, when the shooting incident happened.

According to Fox4, Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes stated that they found shell casings from several guns. Noakes emphasized that the violence has to stop.

In his statement, Noakes stated that it was "an extremely tragic event on what is supposed to be a festive occasion on Independence Day." They have been seeing way too much gun violence across the United States. He also added that it was very evident in Fort Worth, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Moreover, the Fort Worth police chief stated that he wanted to inform citizens that they were doing everything that they could at Fort Worth PD to put a stop to the senseless violence. He also added that they took guns out of the hands of criminals in Fort Worth, Texas, and it will not be tolerated.

In addition, the chief also praised the efforts of the police officers who responded at the scene. Noakes stated that the police officers' actions, treating the victims before paramedics arrived, saved the lives of the victims of the Fort Worth shooting incident.

The Party at Como Neighborhood

Anthony Johnson, a resident living in the nearby carwash where the shooting happened, stated that normally, the kind of party that happened that night brings people from everywhere.

However, Lonnie Lambert, another resident who lives nearby, recalled that he saw people running. At the time, Lambert stated that he was standing on his front porch, and he said that he initially thought that what he heard was fireworks. However, a few moments later, he realized that those were not sounds produced by fireworks.

Hundreds of individuals were present during the Fourth of July block party in Fort Worth's Como neighborhood. Kenneth Frances, another resident, stated that they were having a great time during the party, and it wrapped up at 10 p.m.

When the officer and other members of the police department responded, they found eight individuals hurt outside a car wash near the 3400 block of Horne Street. The victims were all taken to local hospitals. The police confirmed that they are all in stable condition now.

Based on the investigators, they found out that the shooting incident happened after an argument between several men. One of the men left to get a gun. When he came back, he started firing at nearby groups, ABC News reported.

Based on the police, several individuals also returned fire. Authorities also believed that most of the victims were innocent bystanders. So far, no suspects are in the custody of the police.
