At least six people were reported to be brought to a hospital following the Plano house explosion in Texas on Monday, July 19. Fox 7 reported that the victims of the said explosion were composed of three children and three adults.

Authorities have yet to provide the details regarding the severity of injuries sustained by the victims. However, NBC DFW reported that three of the injured were brought to the Medical Center of Plano, while the three other victims were transported to the Children's Medical Center Plano.

Plano, Texas House Explosion

CBS DFW noted that at least 16 fire and police units responded at the scene located at the 4400 block of Cleveland Drive near Park Boulevard and Coit Road. 

Officials said one person was inside a home where the explosion happened. The other five were reported to be inside a house to the left of the explosion.

The incident happened at around 4:45 p.m. The first responders were from the Plano Fire Department, Atmos, Oncor, and the Plano Police Bomb Squad. The Plano Police Hazardous Device Unit was also present, which was a standard protocol.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the explosion. Electricity and gas have been cut off in the area to determine the cause of the explosion. Mayor John Muns noted that the Plano Fire-Rescue was "working diligently" to find out what was behind the blast.

"We are saddened by today's tragedy of a house explosion in our city. Several of our residents were injured. We are keeping them, and their families close to our heart," Muns said in a statement. 

The explosion leveled the home and scattered the debris for hundreds of feet around the area of the incident. The shockwave allegedly shook buildings at least a mile away.

Meanwhile, the view from the Texas SkyRanger revealed a pile of wood framing and other debris of the explosion in a home that previously stood in the area.

Some of the neighboring houses in the area were also affected by the Plano, Texas explosion. A resident in the area shared with CBS 11 that there was a lot of lightning, thunder, and then the sudden boom.

"All of a sudden I heard what I thought was my sliding glass door breaking," said the resident. Another neighbor who lived several houses away from the incident noted that other homes sustained damages to their windows from the explosion.

Another eyewitness, Tony Clark, disclosed that he saw children leaving the neighboring home to get to an ambulance on their own. But Clark noted that he did not notice any wounds on the children, and they walked "just fine." 

NBC DFW noted that there were storms in the area Monday afternoon. However, officials with Oncor underscored that lightning might unlikely be the source for the detonation. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
