Texas ranchers and farmers are seeking compensation from U.S. President Joe Biden's administration for the damage to their properties caused by the illegal immigrants and the border crisis.

Smugglers and migrants frequently damage fences, irrigation systems, and sometimes steal some equipment as they journey through South Texas, according to a Breitbart News report.

Texas Farm Bureau President Russel Boening said that the people along the border will tell them that they have always dealt with illegal immigrants.

Boening added that this is different with the number of people moving through the state is overwhelming. He said that the expectations of the people have changed.

The American Bureau Federation sent a letter in June to the Biden administration, urging them to address the growing number of immigrants entering the United States.

The bureau had sent the letter along with 50 state Farm Bureaus and the Puerto Rico Farm Bureau.

The letter had also highlighted the problem of human smugglers, with landowners fearing Coyotes, according to a Farm Progress report. The letter also said that human smugglers are making false promises while doing whatever it takes to get paid and get away.

The letter also noted that Coyotes abandon people, steal vehicles, and threaten the safety and livelihood of farmers and ranchers.

Meanwhile, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has earlier deployed state law enforcement and the National Guard to the border. The Republican governor has promised to build a wall down the state's 1,250-mile boundary with Mexico. However, this does not address the influx of people or cartel's involvement, according to a New York Post report.

Texas and the Border Crisis

Earlier this month, a group of illegal immigrants had broken inside a Texas ranch house near the border. The said group of migrants had stolen firearms, ammunition, and food, according to a Fox News report.

Big Bend Sector border agents were the ones who responded to the incident. They searched the three migrants and discovered that they had two loaded handguns, ammunition, food, and clothing stolen from the ranch house.

The migrants were taken into custody for further investigation. They may also face trespassing and theft of property charges.

Meanwhile, Texas's governor had announced a disaster declaration on May 31 and said that the state will allot $250 million in state funds to help build the wall.

Federal lawmakers said that building parts of the Texas border wall would cost at least $26.5 million per mile, according to a Texas Tribune report.

Renae Eze, a spokeswoman for Abbott, said that Biden's reckless open border politics have caused a crisis along the state's southern border. She said that the governor's action was justified with the 20-year record high of migrants reported to be crossing the border.

Meanwhile, city officials in Laredo are suing Biden's Department of Homeland Security to stop the transfer of migrants from the Rio Grande Valley for processing, according to another Fox News report.

Laredo Mayor Pete Saenz said that he hopes the temporary restraining order filed will suspend the migrants coming into their town.

Saenz added that the busloads of migrants arriving might overwhelm the city's resources and further spread the coronavirus.
