Simone Biles of USA competes on Balance Beam during the Apparatus Finals on Day 10 of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at Hanns Martin Schleyer Hall on October 13, 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany.
Instead, the professional competitor announced on Tuesday, July 27, that she will be withdrawing from the women's gymnastics team all-around finals since she is not mentally prepared.
After she withdraws from the latest international sports event, her U.S. teammates could only win the silver medal. On the other hand, the Russian team did their best and snatched the gold medal from other competitors.
"I just felt like it would be a little bit better to take a backseat, work on my mindfulness and I knew that the girls would do an absolutely great job and I didn't want to risk the team a medal," said the gymnast via CNET's latest report.
Simone Biles Is Physically In Shape, But Not Mentally
According to NBC News' latest report, Biles explained that although she is physically prepared, thanks to her extreme training sessions before the Tokyo Olympics 2020, she said that she is not emotionally and mentally complete for the international sports event.

"Emotionally, it varies on the time and moment. Coming to the Olympics and being head star isn't an easy feat," said Biles.
She reiterated that she is currently going through things, which affect her mind. On the other hand, she said that she is really proud of her U.S. teammates even if they are bringing a silver medal.
The athlete said that she would be forever inspired by the determination they showed during the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Simone added that her teammates fought for their country's pride when she couldn't.
Biles Still Helped Her Team
Sports Yahoo reported that her teammates had a rough time without their team carrier. Sunisa Lee, one of Biles's teammates, said that they were really stressed out with the athlete's withdrawal from the competition.
She added that Simone basically carries the U.S. team. Although this is the case, Lee and other American gymnast representatives said that her cheering them on allowed them to close the gap against the Russians. Although they only won a silver medal, the American team still made Russians sweat it out until the last rotation.
