This Archer on TikTok Has Gained More Followers Than Most Olympic Athletes
While most of the sports world's eyes are focused on the Tokyo Olympics, an archer from North Texas has taken social media by storm by posting her amazing archery tricks on TikTok and Instagram.
Most commonly known on social media as @freedomandfeathers, Jennifer Delaney has been dubbed the queen of hand-eye coordination. That was because of the fantastic feats she was able to accomplish with her bow and arrow, which has become viral on social media, Yahoo! News reported.
Delaney has gained millions of TikTok followers, more than many Olympic athletes, with her amazing videos.
Jennifer Delaney Becomes a TikTok Star
In several TikTok videos, Jennifer Delaney flexed her precision skills. In one of the clips, she was seen throwing a tennis ball in the air and then shoots it with her arrow. The said TikTok video had gained more than five million hits.
Another one of Delaney's amazing tricks was what she called "trap and hit." The trick was done with a pendulum as a target, and Delaney used two arrows.
The first shot "trapped" the swinging object and made the pendulum stopped moving. Afterwhich, she fired the second arrow and hit the pendulum's center.
However, many social media users noted that Delaney's "candle challenge" is one of her best tricks yet. Standing several yards from a lit candle, Delaney fired her arrow and put out the fire on the candle.
The "candle challenge" clip gained more than 253,000 views on TikTok, and she was widely praised for the amazing execution.

Archery as a Huge Part of Her Life
According to Texas Monthly, Jennifer Delaney noted that archery had become a very huge part of her everyday life. When the TikTok star and her boyfriend decided to buy a house, what she required was that it had a big backyard where she can practice her trick shots.
While she still works regularly at the accounting firm PwC from her home, Delaney tries to find time between client calls and heading to her backyard to fire her arrows.
The report noted that the TikTok star would be in her backyard with her bow and shoot up targets from sunrise to sunset when she is not working.
She also reportedly influenced several of her family members to practice archery. Delaney is also known to pursue her passion despite several challenges.
Early in 2021, Delaney got injured while she was attempting to perform a trick shot while raining. She tore her ACL. However, she postponed her surgery just to record new trick shots for every week of her post-op period.
With her talents in archery leading to a social media stardom, Delaney's hobby has become a second source of income. As a TikTok creator, Jennifer Delaney has to consider what her followers want to see and balance it with what she enjoys.
