A rep for Tracy Morgan revealed that the famous comedian has been released from the hospital and will continue his recovery in a rehabilitation center.

"Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks," Morgan's publicist, Lewis Kay, said in a statement Friday, CNN reported.

"While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go. He and [his fiancée] Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him," the statement continues.

The comic was critically injured June 7 when a Wal-Mart truck slammed into a limo bus carrying him and four others on the New Jersey Turnpike. The collision killed Morgan's mentor, comedian James McNair, aka Uncle Jimmy Mack, while injuring the other passengers, including his assistant, Jeffrey Millea.

The former "Saturday Night Live" star suffered broken ribs, a broken nose, a broken femur and a broken leg.

Nine days later, both he and his assistant were upgraded to fair condition. However, there has been no update on comedian Ardie Fuqua, who also was critically injured in the crash.

Meanwhile, Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper turned himself in to police the night of the crash and has pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and assault by auto. In the criminal complaint, police said Roper hadn't slept for more than 24 hours before the accident and that he swerved to avoid slowed traffic and plowed into the "30 Rock" star's limo, SFGate.com reported.

The National Transportation Safety Board also issued a preliminary report Thursday revealing that Roper was driving 65 mph at the time of the crash -- 20 mph over the speed limit.

"Mr. Roper has entered a plea of not guilty. It was not an artificial exercise, but rather the first step in defending the charges that have been filed against him," Roper's lawyer, David Jay Glassman, said in a statement, according to ABC News. "The initial investigation results released yesterday by the NTSB have only served to bolster our intention to aggressively defend the matter to the fullest."

Roper is free on $50,000 bail.
