WWE SummerSlam 2013 Results: John Cena loses, whil Randy Orton Wins WWE Championship
WWE SummerSlam 2013 has finally arrived and we've got the news on the winners of one of the most Wrestling's most awaited events.
SummerSlam is the second largest WWE pay-per-view show of the year says Bleacher Report; and if that's any indication, World Wrestling Entertainment sure made this year's event a killer.
The show pinned champions versus former champions, and superstar versus budding wrestling stars. Moreover, WWE spared no expense in placing championship titles on the line.
Here are a few of the highlight matches of the night:
Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena; Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H; Randy Orton is Champ?
This match couldn't come at a better time for Cena. According to Wrestling Inc., has been keeping mum about the superstar's severe elbow injury. With this it seems to make better sense why the match between a longtime champion and a fairly new wrestler turned out to be the way it did.
In a turn of events, the Champ lost to Bryan via pinfall. While most Cena fans couldn't believe the outcome of the match, WWE knew how to make SummerSlam slammin' awesome.
Daniel Bryan's win was short lived as Triple H "turned on the new champion," notes Bleacher Report. With Triple H's help, Randy Orton took the opportunity to cash in the Money in the Bank to become WWE Champion.
Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk
Brock is back in the ring. After his not-so long stint in the UFC (and being the UFC Heavyweight Champion), Brock went back to his origins in the WWE. His recent and much awaited match was with CM Punk at SummerSlam.
Lesnar and CM Punk gave the crowd a show worthy to be in SummerSlam history. Bleacher Report describes:
"This was a brutal no disqualification bout that heavily favored Lesnar. Just as he has been many times in the past, Punk was the clear underdog and gave the Beast Incarnate everything he could handle Sunday night."
Other fight results included in the bill include:
- Cody Rhodes wins against Damien Sandow
- Dolph Ziggler - Kaitlyn wins over Big E Langston - AJ Lee
- Bray Wyatt wins over Kane
- Rob Van Dam wins over Dean Ambrose
