In 2011, Ben & Jerry's launched a new ice cream flavor called Schweddy Balls, inspired by a "Saturday Night Live" classic skit. Two new "SNL"-themed flavors will be introduced this year as the ice cream company helps celebrate 40 years of "SNL."

Lazy Sunday is the first new ice cream flavor taken from the popular Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell skit of the same name. "Lazy Sunday" is a vanilla cake batter ice cream with yellow and chocolate cupcake bits and a frosting chocolate swirl.

Gilly's Catastrophic Crunch is the second new ice cream flavor. It has sweet cream and chocolate ice cream topped with fudge-covered almonds, caramel clusters and marshmallow swirls. Kirsten Wiig's SNL character inspired it.

The two new flavors will be available all over the U.S. at scoop shops. Although the pint size is not yet available, you can still buy a pint at any scoop shop, which will allow you to savor both new flavors.

Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavors are a classic example of how the company uses novelty and humor. This innovation has made its flavors unique and relevant, not to mention original.

Ben & Jerry's also has created flavors inspired by Stephen Colbert, Ron Burgundy, Phish, Jimmy Fallon and Dave Matthews. The company will be releasing two more new ice cream flavors this year.

Jerry Greenfield and Ben Cohen started the ice cream business in 1978, taking out a loan and using a refurbished gas station in Burlington, Vermont, where they had their first ice cream scoop shop. Over the years, they have slowly but surely established their ice cream brand as one of the best, if not most creative.
