As the days tick closer and closer to the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, we continue to the give you the latest coverage of what to expect from the next big phablet to hit the market. Up today we have a fast tracked release date, what differences to expect between the two varieties, and the latest info on specs.

The Note 3 is scheduled to be unveiled at Samsung's Unpacked event Sept. 4th, just before the IFA electronic conference in Berlin. It is believed that not only will they be debuting the much-anticipated Note 3, but also the Galaxy Gear smartwatch accessory as well.

Though originally thought to drop no sooner than October (many international customers will receive it before the U.S.), that rumored release date has slowly been creeping up as of late. As it turns out, now it might be right around the corner.

"Our source mentions week 36 [September] as the likely time when the Note III will begin shipping, while the smartwatch will be shipped around week 40, though a delay of a week or two may happen, depending on region[...]Samsung has repeatedly shown their resolve to bring flagship devices to market soon after announcement, so expect to see both devices available for purchase in stores and online retailers in September and October," reports SamMobile.

Though the release date is certainly important, equally so is just what consumers can expect when they do finally get the Note 3. That will at least partly end up being their call, as many people will have to make the tough choice between the two processors Samsung plans on using.

"While some people would prefer to have a version with the Exynos 5 Octa processor and LTE, it seems like things won't be so simple[...]It now seems like shoppers will have to choose between an Exynos 5 Octa with 3G and the Snapdragon 800 with LTE, although the US only has the latter option," writes Phones Review.

While the Snapdragon 800 might score slightly higher than the Exynos 5 Octa, there is certainly something sexy about touting an eight-core processor in one's phone. Still, the Snapdragon also comes with the LTE network, so chances are many techies will opt for that choice. America will only have the Snapdragon variety available.

Lastly, there is a bit of a specs update. It appears that Samsung will not roll out a 16GB storage memory option for the Note 3 as was previously thought. Instead, customers will get to choose between 32 GB and 64 GB models. Other than that, here is the latest news on what to expect:

"The display is now thought to be a 5.68-inch Super AMOLED which will still retain the 1920x1080 pixel full HD resolution as per previous rumours. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is also expected, of course layered with Samsung's TouchWiz UI and some custom stylus interface elements. The battery is believed to be a 3,200mAh unit and if Samsung stays true to form it will be removable," reports knowyourmobile.com.
