It was a dramatic turn of events for Quincey Matthew Hanley, better known as L.A. rapper Schoolboy Q, following his performance on Thursday night.

According to Philly.com, Schoolboy Q, Nas, and Flying Lotus all performed together in a successful joint concert to benefit three charities/programs including the Gang Rescue program and the Support Project of Denver.

The benefit concert was reportedly held in the Red Rocks outdoor amphitheater and Schoolboy Q along with the other artists on the bill performed for about 4,500 people.

Although the concert appeared successful, the aftermath is where things got a bit crazy.

The Denver Post reports that following the show, Schoolboy Q and his entourage got in a white SUV to head home. However, upon entering the car, the SUV was quickly fired on leaving three people in Schoolboy Q's entourage injured.

Following the shootout, the gunman quickly sped off. Schoolboy Q and his posse then took off in search of a hospital, before being stopped by Denver police and taken for medical attention, Philly.com reports.

Schoolboy Q and another member of his team were briefly handcuffed by police assessing the situation, but they were later released.

Thankfully, no injured victim was seriously hurt and all are reportedly doing fine.

Early Friday morning, Schoolboy Q even tweeted to his fans that he was doing okay and there was nothing to worry about:

Despite Q and his team "doing ok," police are still investigating to find the actual gunman and ensure the safety of the people living in Red Rock.

"It just happened 12 hours ago. We have a lot to learn," said Jacki Kelley, a spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Cisco Gallardo, director of the gang rescue group, also chimed in on the situation explaining that investigators are still trying to determine whether the shootout was a gang-related issue.

"We want to know what's going on so we can help out in any way," said Cisco Gallardo, director of the gang rescue group. "There could have been (a) prior beef, prior problems."

Whether Schoolboy Q was an actual target or whether this was a random shooting has yet to be determined.

However, Schoolboy Q has been vocal about his past life as a gang member so a gang-affiliated shootout isn't a far fetch.

Philly.com reports that most of the Red Rocks park had been reopened, but the area of the shooting has remained sealed off.

The gunman has yet to be found.
