Many people are already planning to see Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele when the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie comes out next year, but one person has already publicly stated that he will not be in attendance: Don Johnson, Dakota's father.

Don, who fathered Dakota with Melanie Griffith (they have since divorced), told The Telegraph the movie is not his thing.

"It's not something that I would go to anyway," he said. "I probably will not see it just because it's not a movie I would see."

Apparently the 64-year-old "From Dusk Till Dawn" actor is not into movies based off popular novel series. "Fifty Shades of Grey" is, of course, inspired by E.L. James' erotic "Fifty Shades" trilogy.

"I've never seen 'The Vampire Diaries.' I've never seen 'Twilight,'" Don said. "It's in a category of films that I just wouldn't be interested in."

Don added that he made a pact with his 24-year-old daughter not to see her first big-budget film. Interestingly enough, Don did not say the role's explicit nature was a reason he'd be avoiding "Fifty Shades of Grey."

"I don't know whether it is [embarrassing] or not, this is the family business. We portray characters, and this is the character that Dakota is portraying," he said. "It's difficult for people to separate who we are from the characters we portray, but not for me."

If not for Don's mentoring -- as both a father and a "family business" member -- Dakota might not even have her biggest role yet.

"[Dakota] told me she wasn't going to school because she was going to be an actress, and I was like, 'I've never seen you in a show, and you've never taken a class, so how is that going to work out for you?'" Don said. "Two months later she is in 'The Social Network,' and she got her own TV series, [Fox's short-lived 'Ben and Kate']. She's a fine actress and is doing better than me!"
