We all know by now that J.J. Abrams is directing the highly anticipated "Star Wars Episode VII," but do you know who's directing the subsequent "Star Wars" films? 

Well, according to the Los Angeles Times, "The Brothers Bloom" director Rian Johnson was announced Friday as the writer and director of that film.

Johnson is most known for his critically acclaimed "Breaking Bad" episode, "Ozymandias," the 14th episode of the AMC show's fifth season. Some even referred to the episode as the best in the series.

So far, the "Star Wars" franchise has done a good job of letting fans know about the creators behind the upcoming films. With the most recent announcement of Johnson joining the team, we now know who will write and direct five of the six confirmed upcoming "Star Wars" films.

According to the Daily Beast, Abrams will direct the first film, "Star Wars Episode VII," scheduled for December 2015, and he will write the screenplay with Lawrence Kasdan. The "Star Wars" spinoffs, scheduled for 2016 and 2018, will be directed by Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank.

Following the release of the spinoffs, Johnson will write and direct 2017's "Episode VIII." Johnson will also prepare a treatment for Episode IX; however, no announcement have been made regarding the director or screenwriter.

Among the confirmed writers and directors, Johnson has the second-shortest resume, the Daily Beast reports. But despite Johnson's lack of credits, fans received news of his involvement positively online.

Following the announcement, Rian tweeted a clip from the movie "The Right Stuff" in which character Alan Shepard prays he won't "eff up" the first manned American space flight.
