iOS 7 Beta 7 Release Date: Final Beta Won't Be Available Monday
Ever since Apple announced its intention of coming out with iOS 7 earlier this summer, rumors have been swirling over just what to expect.
Multiple sources expected that the iOS 7 beta 7, otherwise known as the final beta, would be released on Monday for developers to tinker with. That would be just four days after the bug fix beta 6 edition was released last week.
"We are told by our trusted sources that Apple has once again seeded a new build of iOS 7 to partners, and that it should be released to developers later today. We can confirm the build number is much higher than the previous beta, and we would assume that iOS 7 beta 7 should be distributed and made available for developers around 1:00 p.m. EDT, as usual," reports bjr.com.
However, that report turned out to be a false alarm. The 10 a.m. Pacific time release window came and went with no update, but it does seem likely that iOS 7 beta 7 is imminent. Chances are high that beta 7 will not include game-changing, fundamental fixes. As it stands iOS 7 is basically in its final form, and now the focus is simply on tightening up what already appears to be an exciting next generation operating system. Still, smart money says Apple still has a trick or two up its sleeve for the release.
"While we don't yet know what will be new in the iOS 7 beta 7, it is likely the last beta Apple will push out before locking down the iOS 7 release into a Gold Master. Rumors point to an iOS 7 Gold Master or GM arriving on September 5th for some partners and to developers on September 5th after Apple shows off new iPhone models and likely several hidden iOS 7 features which it kept internal to the Apple IOS development team," notes gottabemobile.com.
One thing to get excited about is the fact that multiple sources are indicating that the build number for this beta 7 edition is markedly higher than previous releases, and so it's possible that there are some big additions to what has already been a very positively reviewed operating system. Stay tuned for more.
