Mexican-American NBA player Juan Toscano-Anderson has made it to the spotlight after he scored 11 points, one rebound, and two assists across 19 minutes during Wednesday's game with the Utah Jazz,

Toscano-Anderson went from training camp invite to borderline starter last season. The Warriors traded five players at the deadline and decided to sign Toscano-Anderson for the rest of the season, according to an NBC Sports News report.

He initially played for Golden State's G League team, giving himself a year to make it to the NBA.

Juan Toscano-Anderson Net Worth 2022

Toscano-Anderson signed a two year contract worth $2,059,888 with the Golden State Warriors, including $358,295 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,029,944.

The Mexican-American Warriors player will earn a base salary of $1,701,593 in 2021-2022 while he has a cap hit of $1,701,593 and a dead cap value of $1,701,593, according to a Spotrac report.

In 2019-2020, he had a salary of $350,189, the next year it was $358,295.

In 2022-2023, he is projected to earn a salary amounting to $2,126,991.

In November 2021, he was fined $2,000 for a technical foul during the GSW-LAC game, the same fine was imposed for the same violation in May 2021 during the PHX-GSW game.

In April 2021, he was forfeited $2,000 for a technical foul during DEN-GSW play, and another $2,000 for the same violation in last February during GSW-DAL game.

NBA Slam Dunk Contest

Toscano-Anderson will be playing against Houston Rockets rookie Jalen Green, New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin, and Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony on Saturday.

Most sportsbooks noted that the Mexican-American NBA star enters the NBA Slam Dunk competition with the lowest odds of winning, according to a USA Today News report.

Green is projected to be the most favorite to win the event. Meanwhile, Toscano-Anderson is the oldest competitor in the game.

When asked about his plans, the Golden State player said to "wait to find out."

Toscano-Anderson said that the dunk contest is just a combination of athleticism, creativity, and showmanship, all put together, according to another NBC Sports News report.

He added that he knows "those young guys" are a bit more athletic than him. Nevertheless, he said that he will be going to try to come up with something and have fun with it.

The Mexican-American player said that Warriors legend Jason Richardson "inspired" him as a kid. Richardson is also a two-time Slam Dunk Contest winner.

Toscano-Anderson was informed that Richardson was picking him to win the dink contest. The 28-year-old player said that it means a lot to him.

Toscano-Anderson said that he is a "smart man, not a betting man," adding that he knows he is the underdog.

He will be part of a Warriors All-Star Weekend that includes Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, and Jonathan Kuminga.

The Slam Dunk will be the third and final event on NBA All-Star Saturday night, with Green being the favorite to win, followed by Toppin, then Anthony, and lastly Toscano-Anderson.
