Miss Alabama Zoe Bethel Dead at 27; Cause of Death Revealed by Miami Police
The Miami Police Department on Tuesday said that Miss Alabama 2021 Zoe Bethel died after suffering "blunt force trauma."
Police noted that the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner ruled Bethel's tragic death an "accident," and foul play was ruled out. In a statement, the police department said officers responded to a call on February 11 at around 12:05 a.m.
According to Fox News, a preliminary police investigation noted that the 27-year-old beauty queen fell from a third-floor window in the waterfront Edgewater neighborhood. Bethel, who was in "critical condition," was transported to Jackson Memorial hospital by responding Miami Fire Rescue personnel.
The police department said officers had "responded to a call of a possible suicide attempt," indicating that Bethel jumped from the seven-story condo building. However, that was clarified in the statement noting that "this was a tragic accident" and "no foul play is suspected."

Death of Another Beauty Queen
Last month, former Miss USA winner Cheslie Kryst died after taking her own life by jumping from the 29th floor of her luxury apartment building on West 42nd Street in midtown Manhattan.
Crime Online reported that Kryst was pronounced dead at the scene and found lifeless in the snow on an outdoor sidewalk.
Kryst worked as a lawyer and a correspondent for the television show "Extra." Hours before her death, the former Miss USA shared an Instagram post with a caption saying, "May this day bring you rest and peace."
Police reported having obtained a note that Kryst wrote before her death. The note indicated that she wanted to leave all of her belongings to her mother. However, she did not give a reason for her decision to take her own life.
In 2019, Kryst won the Miss USA title while working as a lawyer. She received her Bachelor's Degree in business from the University of South Carolina, followed by a Master's in Business Administration and a law degree from Wake Forest University.
