At least 14 people connected to the Atlas-Queretaro Brawl during Liga MX over the weekend were placed under the custody of law enforcement on Tuesday.

According to Associated Press, authorities from the north-central state of Queretaro arrested at least 13 suspects in the brawl amid the Liga MX game between Atlas and Queretaro.

The outlet added that the 14th suspect was turned in by his mother to the police.

Authorities did not identify the suspects placed under their custody. Reports noted that the arrests were based on a review of videos and other evidence from the confrontation that happened on Saturday.

It can be recalled that at least 26 arrest warrants and 21 searches were requested following the Liga MX brawl.

Queretaro state interior secretary, Guadalupe Murguía, on Tuesday confirmed that 26 people participated in the brawl.

Officials from Mexico furthered that raids and searches will continue in several cities to find the others, per Associated Press.

Liga MX Brawl: Queretaro and Atlas Fans Barred From Attending Matches

The arrest of the 14 individuals connected to the Liga MX brawl on Saturday came the same day as Mexico's soccer federation and top-division league announced that they will ban the rowdy clubs of fans following the tragedy, Associated Press mentioned.

Under the sanctions announced by the federation and the top-league, Queretaro's cheering group, called "Barrios," is banned from attending home games for three years and one year for away games, Marca reported.

The owner of Queretaro's soccer team is also required to sell his stake in it and the current team management will be banned from the Liga MX for five years.

Meanwhile, the cheering group for Atlas is also not allowed to attend the matches for 6 months.

In addition, the private company partly responsible for security at the soccer stadium had its contracts canceled, per AP.

De Luisa underscored in a press conference that it was proven from the evidence collected that there were omissions from several entities, including the private security company and Club Queretaro.

Liga MX Brawl: 5 Officials Suspended Following Queretaro Brawl

The sanctions slammed against the Atlas and Queretaro fans came a day after at least five officials were suspended by the state authorities following the brawl, AP noted per NBC News.

Authorities did not name the suspended officials, but reports highlighted that the move affected police and a civil defense employee, as well as three people responsible for planning and preparing for the event.

It can be recalled that the Liga MX brawl on Saturday had over two dozen people injured, and three of the victims were in critical condition.

According to reports, the Atlas-Queretaro match was canceled in the 62nd minute after multiple fights broke out. After several minutes, AP mentioned that the brawl moved to the field as some of the fighters were armed with chairs and metal bars.

As of Tuesday, only three or four of the injured men remained in the hospital, according to Associated Press.

Meanwhile, Queretaro's coach, Hernán Cristante, previously claimed that his players received death threats following the Liga MX brawl on Saturday.

"We regret and condemn these events, which run contrary to the spirit of our soccer," Mexican Soccer Federation said in a statement.
