Pop Sugar reported that the pair met during the music video filming for her hit song "Waka Waka." People recently reported that Shakira said the reason for their usual fight was due to punctuality.

"My poor husband, slash boyfriend, slash baby daddy, whatever you want to call him, he has to wait up for me so long. He's tired of waiting up," Shakira said on the podcast Planet Weirdo.

Because of this, Shakira noted that she became more punctual.

Shakira and Antonio de la Rua

Before she met Gerard Pique, Shakira was in a relationship with lawyer Antonio de la Rua, the son of the late Argentine President, Fernando de la Rua, Hola reported.

Shakira and De la Rua reportedly met while the lawyer was working on his father's electoral race, and the singer was promoting her MTV Unplugged CD.

The two dated from 2000 until they decided to call it quits in 2010. But in 2012, De la Rua sued Shakira for $100 million. De la Rua claimed that Shakira owed him compensation from when they were business partners. However, the court eventually dismissed the case.

De la Rua has two children with DJ Daniela Ramos from Cali, Colombia, but they already went their separate ways.

Another past flame of the Colombian singer is Puerto Rican telenovela star Osvaldo Rios. According to Pop Sugar, the two dated around 1997, with Shakira only talking about their relationship once. The two reportedly dated for eight months.

Shakira's First Boyfriend

Long before her career started, Shakira had a boyfriend from her hometown Barranquilla in Colombia, named Oscar Ulloa.

In an interview with La Red, Ulloa talked about his teenage romance with the Latin superstar, saying that the singer was the "perfect girlfriend."

Ulloa also shared that they broke up on Valentine's Day, but he did not specify the year. Reports further noted that Shakira's song "Antologia" was written about her relationship with Ulloa.
